Question just got my 04

I recently purchased my 04 V6, and are kind of pist off of those people asking is it a 5.0, or why you got a 6. I'll be honest it was cheaper and I do like the car.
Now I find my self wanting to make some changes, like the exhust, although I dont know were to start, I dont want it to sound like those japenese honda civics.
can some one point me to the right direction? any suggestions on good sounding exhusts?

You can start off by removing your Air Silencer. (FREE) Granted it wont gain you much....
http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/intke.htm

Then you can delve into CAI, exhaust... all that $$$ stuff. Check out this poll.

It might help you see what other drivers are doing (just click view poll results)

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...highlight=POLL

I suggest doing some searches on the board for exhaust, CAI and the like and reading other peoples threads! They can be really helpful and present a good bit of information from many different Stang modders.

Welcome, btw.

Thumbs up Thanks for the tips

Hey guys thank you for the tips, I'm going to try removing the air silencer, and poke around on the V6 threads. I have to say I really think I want to put in a new exhust for a nice sound.

I'd get a GT rear bumper with an exhaust on that model the cutouts look nice and make the car look clean cut. (there is no GT badging on the bumper)

and that v6 is no slow pony. it can prolly beat most of the cars on the road today.

Mustangdewd3.8, thank you for your suggestion, I was looking around at photos and I have to agree. I really dont care for the tail pipes hanging under the skirt. Would you know of a good place to buy a bumper (GT)? Do you think a 02, 03 model year would fit?

Greek stang,

Try Bumpers.com

They provide painted bumpers (OEM), although they are not perfect. Keep in mind the imprefections may be very small and is 100's cheaper than getting a brand new bumper from Ford. I believe they also have pre primed bumpers that you can have installed at a body shop (and then painted) to your cars color.

However, since it is new, it's not likely to have any real sun fading issues on the paint. (Not really an issue of matching up the paint colors)

damn that's a nice.... I used www.stangparts.com to find whatever I need but I'll have to check out this bumpers.com... looks like a great deal

99+ GT Bumpers will fit 99-2004 I believe.

any questions on exhaust I'll be more than happy to try and asnwer them

I'd go with dual exhaust, get a nice rumbly muffler and you'll hear your car, it's always nice to know when your car is on

:-)

Oh and as an annendum to my earlier post... The primed bumpers are not OEM, they are aftermarket parts. (If your going for a stock look, these may work, although the quality could be lower). You save a few more dollars too that way.
