I think I have my reasons, my friend has that explorer too. and I had to work on it a few times for him myself.. I just don't like it. SOunds good.

But that is 205 hp on a 3000 lbs... it's a lil eh... but the higher RPMs work well with tis supercharger which gives it a good advantage. It's a sporty and nice , bout as fast as a 5.0 right. good torque for a 4cyl 200 lbs... not bad.

Someoen mentioned the 96 cobra... I like that idea now if I can find one with very low mileage. or a 2004 Mach 1 which I have found to go for like 25 k so that's not too bad.

the Cobalt SS is not the fastest car but I have no problem with it. Plus no offense to Ford, Chevy can build a very nice relable engines. specially that 350. Come on. 'Simply' perfect.

If worst comes to worst worst... I might just get a base model v6. but I want to see what else Ford has to offer. I even heard around the shop that Ford is thinking of taking out od 24 valve and going with the 32 valve v8 for the GT producing prolly same power. maybe 305 -310 hp. so I want to see what that is about too.

Also you're right about the supercharger and turbo, need to mark that section on the sinsurance card... and it puts on a nice amount. But I bet the cobalt can be worked nicely. My friends are pros on their lil 4 cyl, I wonder what can be done.
Hey Dewd!

You know they're only making 3000 of those Cobalt SS cars, right? I went to take one for a test drive, and they said they're a limited edition.

you're probably going to have an easier time finding a GT.

Speaking of which, there's one gathering dust in Holton, KS.

It's completely covered, ahsn't been driven since it landed 3 some odd weeks ago. It's the maroon color with bullitt wheels.

I got my Cobalt for $24,500 loaded, and i added the stage 2 kit for $900 and $50 for the lightweight pulley. I am running better or equal times to those Mustang GT's. Get a cobalt, they are fast, good on fuel when you are light on the throttle, they come with a 7 speaker pioneer MP3 CD system with sub, and they all have leather, tilt air cruise, power everything including sunroof. Plus the 07 and up come with 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I beat the hell out of mine and no problems so far, just hit 37000 miles. The entire engine was built to handle 500 horsepower with the exception of the pistions, they can only handle 300 horse, the transmission is bulletproof too, it can handle 500 horse and it shifts so smoothly, the powertrain comes from the SAAB turbo, the suspension was designed and built by the corvette division, check the stats on the nuerburgring track in Germany. The Cobalt SS is the fastest front wheel drive car to ever lap that track, thats out of all the cars in the world! There arent even any Mustangs on there. The Cobalt ss is far from an econobox car. Its a hell of a car.
