Default Burning Out

If only done one to three times a month, will it have any adverse effects on your tires? Also, when launching, is it bad to literally dump the clutch, or is it better to ease it out quickly so you get less spin? In the long run which would be faster if when dumping the clutch you could find the ideal RPM to dump it at?

If you plan on doing burnouts get a set of Nitto 555's!

Burnout = not good for tires of course. When launching its hard to determine what to launch at, and depends on the tires. I got my second "best" time at the track launching at 3,500 and controlling my open ended rear end the best I could. My best time though for some reason I think I launched at like 2k(still no traction) with worse tires on the car.

Just try practicing your launches steadily increasing every 500 rpms. Its funny how sticky a track is compared to the street.

first off if you want to do burnouts dont go spend 300$ on 2 nitto 555's.(maybe if you dont want to spin then yes purchase them) if you want to spin go get a cheap pair of tires and go have fun, just rev it to 4-5 grand and dump the clutch and feather the gas so you dont hhit the rev limiter. if you want to hook and get a good e.t. then yes buy a pair of nitto's. they dont need to be heated up that much b/c there such a great quality tire. just clean them before you launch(dump the clutch at 4grand then let the tires rotate about 4 times then let off) i really dont know how a 6 cylinder launches but ill tell you how to do it in a gt. just rev at about 3500-4000 rpms and pulse the gas while letting off the clutch slowly and when you feel like your power is starting to engage let off the clutch all the way and stick it. youll be pleased.

Burnouts = loss of traction = loss of time. Don't Burn out get stickies.

That won't happen But I would find a comfortable place for your car to launch from that has minimal loss of traction thus leaving you with good time.

If you're racing save up for a good sticky tire on another set of wheels and use it for race only. THen leave your old Rims and Tires for daily driving.

with the 7.5 open dif you cant really get drags or slick there is a chance that you might break your axle if you are looking for a good Track time do the launch at about 3 to 3.5 hundred rpms and slowly let the clutch till you feel the power starting to catch then let it out faster but don't dump it 6s have a bad tendancy to bog down cuz we don't have the power to weight ratio. also doing "rev drops" like this is very bad for a clutch i burned mine out doing 7 launches after owning my car about 2 days and i have driven a stick all my life. its kinda personal preference change tire or change clutchs, at least in stock. if you burn you clutch you can get a stage 1 clutch that is ment for rev dropping and wont but out for about 100 launches. hope that helped
