Hey guys, love the web site, love all the stang owners. Well i finally got myself into a mustang of mine own (Im 17 bout to be 18) and i was tired of my 01 explorer. Well i just got a 01 mustang v6 auto today and i am thrilled. The car is fine, a real beauty but see my buddy gots one just like it, also a 01 v6 auto. Well not to promote reckless driving but we do drive fast and i want to break the news to my bro that i got a new stang but i want mine to be "better". lol yea it seems childish but i was wondering if there is anything i could get that would give me a clear advantage over him. Yea i know i could of easily gone "better" with a gt. But my budget + insurance + the unbelievable deal i got made me choose the v6. Guys i really appreciate all the help. Thanks

no, you're biggest gains will be in your intake, and pulleys. The exhaust system is pretty good.

Ok guys im loving this forum more and more. Now i looked at rpmoutlet.com and i think i found two things that will be good to have. I was looking at both of these they are option D & E and you can see those at http://rpmoutlet.com/newv6m.htm That will give me alot of stuff and i think that seems like a good deal. The only problem is i want to do them in steps, so if you think those parts are good should i get Option D first (cai kit) or should i get option E first (Misc.) Thanks for the helps guys i really appreciate it.

But the option E ( the one with the exaust is ok)? Only thing i am worried about is my rear bumper is going to have to be replace somehow because it is cutout for single exaust. thank you man you have been extremely helpful

Your best bet is option C. For the money. You'll pick up more hp with those items than either D or E.
Best power comes from a K&N FIPK II or Densecharger CAI. and you don't need a throttle body unless you're pushing more than 250 hp.
you can cut out a hole in the rear bumber, or simply use longer hangars at the back.
those MAC headers have fitment problems, I'd go with JBA CatForward headers. Bu you don't need those either unless you're pushing 250 HP.

I dont really understand though. What will one of those flash tuners do for me. Will u even notice a difference. Either one is $255 in the kit, so yea im getting a deal buying it in the kit but i dont want to mess up my vehicle trying to program it myself. Is there step by step instructions or what? Because i cant just buy the MOTOBLUE™ H.O. Power Balancer Pulley Kit and the Water Pump Pulley for $224. I just dont know how im going to set the flash tuner thing because i dont know like what rev limiter etc. Thanks again and if you think the flash tuner is a good idea should i go with the Superchips or Diablosport?

yeah, they're step by step.
The tuner will give you more power by advancing the spark curve, if you have an auto, it will firm your shifts, and allow you to make more power from higher octane fuel, if you want to.
It will lean the fuel map a bit, (there's a lot of cushion in the stock program) remove the speed limiter, and so on.
If you switch to a higher octane fuel, you'll gain quite a bit, and you can change it back to a lower octane when you wish. Any option on the program can be removed.
you'll get only 5-7 hp from the BBK intake, and nothing from the headers on a bisically stock engine, with the programmer, you'll make a lot more than that, and when you want to make additions like gears, port & polish, etc, you won't need to pay for someone to do it for 100.00 an hour.

Well i have somebody who will be doing most of the work for me that has his own shop for the county vehicles and will give me a break on the labor charges (He has a 7 second mustang) but i didnt want to bother him with little questions. Ok im going to be getting option C soon (payday lol) from rpm outlet and im still trying to find somewhere to purchase a cai kit.

What bout x-cal? is one of the flash tuners as good because the package c that you said what good gave you a choice of the diablosport predator or superchips TriTune flash tuner (Which one would you choose outa those two or would you rather just get the x-cal. thanks for the help coyote man.
