i have a 2002 mustang v-6 and my friend has a 2000 pontiac grand am gt mine is stick and his is auto mine has a 3.8L and his has a 3.4L why am i loseing by like 5 car lenghts some on please tell me

He must have some crazy mods or something. My 2000 V6 auto eats grand am gt's like they are nothing. He should be no trouble. You have a half a sec. on the 1/4 mile on him.

FYI, the GM 3400 series motor runs at 190 HP and 210Lbs of torque, the pontiac grandam gt also has a 3.73 final gear ratio. I used to own an olds alero, which has same motor, but diff gears and I could beat an 02 Auto v-6 stang. Just really depends on if you know how to drive

You lost cause any mustang before the new ones are a joke. Don't get me wrong the new ones have nothing bad to be said but any car with frame an suspension of 70's ford fairmont isnt goin anywhere. I have a honda civic yeah i know a lil **** econobox but its lightly modified and ive kept up up bumper to bumper with a 4.6 and at the back bumper of a 5.0 and all that out of a sohc 1.6. and the v6's? raped em all. sorry but theres a reason theyre so cheap, none of the body panels line up and the cars are built like crap. Iv'e seen a 4.6 run a 16 at the track. I love it when you guys come up at the light and rev those big bad engines and then a lil 1.6 beats it its funny. I will give the mustang two things though, they sound REAL nice(GT's)and.... the windows roll up pretty fast but thats about it sorry

WHAT I'm stock and I can beat every civic around here including the V-tecs and a turbo with 14PSI so go get in you little gas saver and and make that bumble bee scream cause with slight mods there is no way you could keep up with a GT unless the guy was one bad driver.

Dun get me wrong either you can make a mustang real fast but for less you make a honda faster. As a matter of fact you can make an 11 second honda for around ten grand includin the car, I used to be kinda into 5.0's an what not but after seein that and messin around with mine that whole pony car V8 **** went out the window

Oh yea sorry i dint put this in the last one but how come all you guys can bash on "ricers" all day but i can't speak one word against your pony's I give respect to any car that can live up to the hype but a V8 that cant do all that much when its marketed as a muscle car? A car like that is overrated but when you see a car made to be a grocery hauler and a gas saver blow the doors off a "muscle car" THATS something to see. Id like to see anyone of you in your stock GT's race a stock Z28 or a trans am and youll see exactly what I mean

Show me a video and I'll believe but you said light mods and thats real hard to believe with what I have beaten, and I don't hate ricers I see nothing wrong with driving a civic or neon, but I hate the ricer attitude of the guys at my school comming up to me telling me how much faster their car is and when we race make up **** like oh I missed second. It is to hot and **** like that. And this is a Stang forum so putting down the mustang probably isn't smart.

Ok sorry if i came off like An ass hole but I have the same problem with people always making excuses and as soon as they see theyre not pulling you like they thought they should they turn off the next street I just thought I'd even it out since all i saw was import bashing from people who jus rely on manufacturer specs and times to say they can win

Yeah sorry if I came off bad too. I hate that. I have seen fast civics I mean uber fast. I just love my stang, and I only race to have fun you got a faster car props to you man. What is your HP after mods? Yeah sorry off topic

theres no dyno's in my area so i dun know exactly but I'm guessin around 140-150 to the ground and maybe aroun 100-110 torque wise but ive seen 4.6's dyno at around 170 but when you add in a 2200-2500 weight to a 3800-4000(dun know exact #'s) pound car it starts to make a little more sense what kind of pony do you drive?
