Default Torque Converter

I was wondering where I could get a good torque converter and about how much it cost. Thanks.

You should probably read some of my threads on TCCOA. I build converters and can give you quite a bit of insight on them. Lentech is not a bad choice however, avoid those edge and others of the like units. I am working on a patent that will be the indestructible setup but it's still a few months off.

TCCOA has some a great article on Ford over drive transmissions.

What do you mean by "those edge and others of the like units."?

Edge units and a few other companies are building identical ones. Are all built from a kit from sonnax. It uses the stock 245mm (gm fwd)front cover(a known weak link) and the stock lockup piston from those converters as well. They have considerably smaller clutches than stock and are as prone to ballooning as the stock units. That and the sprag is only good for about 400ftlb.
