Default My S2K vs V6 and Mustang GT

I raced a V6 Mustang the other day in my S2K. We started at a light in front of a ramp to merge onto the highway. I reved up to 6k rpm and dropped the clutch. Even with my no torque Honda motorcycle engine, i totally smoked him off the line. Then i let him catch up on the highway, and we started off a rolling start. Popped my car in 2nd and he was long gone.

I also raced a pre-05 mustang GT a few weeks ago. Those suckers are Fast! I kept up pretty good about 1 car length behind but then i slowly pulled away form him in the top end. Ive gotten my 4 banger to 150mph top speed. whats the topspeed on a GT?

you could beat a v6 to 60, due to gearing and flywheel weight. But you'll notice you start to lose a lot of ground in the 1/4 mile. which is even LESS impressive when you consider there's a $15,000 price difference. that's a lot to pay to be 0.8 secs faster to 60, and 0.3 secs faster in the 1/4 mile.

The GT?! Looks like he was only racing you in your mind.

$15,000 extra for 240 high end power, f1 inspired double wishbone suspension, HID headlights, Leather blucket seats, Convertible, and damn sexy looks. not even $15, its lower than that!

I did race a 99-04 GT, wont beat it off the line, but i can sure take it on the top end. I can get this car to 240 horse powers in 3-4 seconds, screaming down the highway at 9k RPM and still the HONDA reliability.

0-60 under 6 seconds by a decent driver even with only 156 ft lbs of torque.

1/4 high 13's with a decent driver.

#3. same as #1, but inspiration is soooo abstract, doncha' think? I'm inspired by Tecumseh. Does that make me Tecumseh? I bought my car NEW for 13,000 the BASE price for an S2000 is 33,500. The Base Price for a 2005 V6 is under 20,000.
13500 rounds to 15000.
6,000 RPM launches won't do much for your Honda Reliability. Looks like you're already working on the car



Lastly, I've never seen a stock S2000 go high 13s in the 1/4 mile, or 0-60 in less than 6 secs. Meanwhile, I have seen cobras for the same price perform with these numbers:

Why do you always have to bring up price? that dont always count because theres 30k luxury cars that are alow slower than V6 and GT mustangs. Its all about power to wieght ratio. the S2K is only 4 cyl while the stang is 6 and 8 cyl. The S2k is lighter, but the stangs have 2 times the torque. Also suspension is exspensive on a car with standard leather seats and HID headlights. Ive driven a GT and im pretty damn sure that my S2k could kill a GT on a track.

A GT's not a Cobra. A Cobra would wipe the floor with an S2000 at any road race circuit. An S2000 would compete well in an autocross.

Everything has it's price.

It's not power to weight, it's bang for the buck!

The S2000 invests in "F1 Inspired!!!!(Yippee!!!)" suspension at the expense of power.

The RX8 follows the same pattern, and consistently loses to heavier cars. Peak horsepower/lb has nothing on a heavier car with a broader powerband.

If you'd like to factor out cost, then your S2000 has NOTHING on a Ford GT!!

What kind of track, drag strip? lets see the times, or when you get some.

I was being nice, just asking a question and you have to knock drag racing and nascar.
