Default 2 cosmetic questions

First off im looking at a 2003 V6 stang now cause I like the darker silver they didnt offer untill that year. Ive noticed 2 things that some cars from 03 have slapped on them at the factory that take away from the overall appearance of the vehicle.

First issue is the little door guard strip that really messes up the flow of the lines.

The other issue is that I think as part of a V6 sport package they threw on an ugly prancing horse decal across the bottom of the door.

My question is how hard is it to remove both of these items? I imagine the deacal should come off easy enough but that mid door strip im worried is actually screwed into the door and if it gets pulled will leave holes behind, anyone know? Or would i just be better off shopping around and avoiding cars that have those items already on em.

I think the strip is glued on. Take some dental floss, warm the strip with a hairdryer, and use the dental floss to cut the glue.

The decal comes off with a hair-dryer, too.

Just don't scratch the paint!

Thats the first time I've heard anyone say they didn't like the side molding on the V6. But I was told by my dealer when I bought my car that the side molding was put on with automotive 3M double stick tape. :-\

I just think it looks cheap and takes away from the lines of the car. Glad to hear its not screwed on means there is hope of being able to remove it.

Get a hair dryer, and heat it until it starts to curl, and pull it off.
