Yeah, they work to keep everything as constant as they can. the only real variable is production variables (tolerances which can change output as much as 10% from one car to another), as they correct for altitude, temp, etc.

Moter Trend tested the new Eclipse GT , and got 0-60=5.9, 14.2 at 100mph, that kind of puts it out of mild modded or stock V6 stang ,sorry if you dont like what I have to say !

This was a pre-production model for the 1st drive.
Motor Trend hasn't done a ROAD TEST of a PRODUCTION MODEL yet.

P.S. No one EXCEPT magazines ever goes to the track with a STOCK vehicle.

For all GT drivers out there... I have friends that have GT's (refering to mustang gt's), they can tell you that the GT mustangs are the competition of these cars...

BMW 6 Series
Mazda RX8 6 Speeds (0-60 in 6.1 secs)(the Sport AT is for us v6 owners.)
Turbos of these:
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (not the SL or base models thats for us v6 mustang owners)
Toyota Supra RZ (not the SZ-R or base Supras that also for us V6 owners)
Nissan Skyline if you ever find one, (but even then the Spec V Nur you would loss badly to)
Mazda RX7 Turbo version (I'm not sure about it)
Chevrolet Corvettes (not Dodge Vipers (which are my dream cars)
Chevrolet Camaro Z28's and SS
Dodge Charger Daytona and Hemi powered SRT8
plus a few others.
We V6 owners have the most competitors to go against, but then we have the most bragging rights too. Why? Because we don't have that much power and the car isn't that popular with car magazines.

Its still a mid 14 sec car, no matter how pissy you get a stock V6 mustang is not , face it , its the facts !
And to all the other V6 Mustang guys , I have nothing against V6 Mustang`s , I had an 02 V6 myself ,so I know alittle about the cars performance , Its guys like Kscoyte that BS and say they beat WRX`s, Crossfire`s, Newer Maxima`s and many more with a Stock Automatic trans V6 Mustang, that makes V6 guys look bad !

They state that the GS is Mustang V6 (the 4.0L new V6) terrority. And that the GT is Mustang GT. But that is out right killing the Eclipse GT in performance and speed, but features they are even...
