Today i had my car stolden, I was able to find it thanks to God, it got impounded by the police, Now I have to get a new key because there was no key in the car, well my question is do you guys know around how much would i get a new ignition key? or what would you recommend me to do?

you have only one option. You have to get it from the dealership. the PATS system isn't able to be worked around by most locksmiths.

what year mustang is it ? If it is a older stang ( pre PATS ) , a locksmith should be able to help you . I paid $ 65 to have a spare key cut and programed for my 98 . Yes that is outragous !

That's cheap, I've seen $85-$125.

It depends on the year of the mustang. i worked for a locksmith for 3years. Its nothing to make a key for the earlier mustangs but when you get to around 96 and up you start getting into alot of money. making the key is not the problem, but programming it is. you have to program it to the computer in your car and that can start in the 100's and get into the 1000's. and most locksmiths can't aford the equipment to do it. good luck.
