Default To Buy or not to Buy - 2002 V6 Convertible

I am looking at a 2002 Convertible Mustang v6 3.8L with 65,000 the seller wants $7,200. Is this a good price? How is the gas mileage on the v6? What usually goes wrong?
Here are the specs -
65,000 Miles
True Blue w/ white convertible top, white Mustang panels & white leather interior
16" Bright Alloy Wheels
ABS/Traction control
Rear deck lid spoiler
Power everything
In dash 6 CD disc changer, Mach 460 premium sound system
Securilock Anti-theft system & remote keyless entry
CFC-Free air conditioning runs extremely cold

In perfect mechanical condition, new ceramic disc brakes, good tires, oil & filter just changed, freshly inspected & detailed.

Has a few parking lot bumps & bruises from working downtown, but no major body damage

Thanks in advance

I ran a Kelly Blue Book for pitts, PA (in your profile) for 2002 V6 Mustang Convert w/65,000 miles and the options you mentioned (I used automatic too) and it came up with these prices for buying used from a private party:

Excellent Condition - $10,620
Good Condition - $9,885
Fair Condition - $8,910

Thanks for the info. I used Cartalk.com and got different numbers but looking at several of the Mustang forums the prices for these cars are all over the place.

I saw someone bought an 03 mustang wth 45,000 for $4000. I also saw prices as high as $16,500 for an 02 depending on the engine and options. So I am a little loss as to what I should offer for this car.

Everyone seems to think it is a good car just change the exhaust and sway bar.

Any other thoughts?

I'm cautious that is why I posted this thread. The owner claims it has not been in any accidents and mostly highway miles. I will see the car tomorrow and make a decision. Prices for these cars on ebay and the forums are all over the place.

thats a good price for that , its sounds about the right price for a just a 2dr coupe . but for a drop top either its a really good price : needs the money ASAP: dealers need to get it off the lot : or it was in accident wich isnt always a bad thing (it can be sometimes tho ) just have it ran threw by a mechanic. the kelly blue book prices are just used for a base price to start around for dealers these days, noone actually goes by them . either private sellers usually go lower
