Arrow Chrome Rims & Big Tires!

I have a 2000 mustang convertible (white/black top). I am getting new rims... I really want 18" Chrome Spinners (larger width in back). My dad said that 17" is the biggest I can go without fuc*ing up the torque & Handling... Is this true, or just a story to make me get 17's. ? Oh yeah, does anybody drive with 18's? If so does it feel like **** when you ride around? (This is another thing my dad keeps going on about) For tires I really wanted the Nitto 555 tires. Then my dad said, Nitto – I’ve never heard of them... He went on to say how I should get Pirelli or Toyo. Does anybody have any suggestions? I know Pirelli is very good. One last thing, can somebody tell me the specs I need to look for like what is the max width at RW / FW. Well Thanks a lot, oh and for anybody who thinks spinners are really ghetto, and have racist comments about them... I don’t give a fu*k…

Remember, you only live once…
I really want spinners!
:thumbsup

Well then thanks a lot!

Hey Jon,

I think chrome spinners are going to look like crap on your car. A mustang is a classic car and putting those ghetto rims on that will really fu*c it up. I have 18's on my car right now and am going back to stock 17's. On my rear I will have 255 55/17 and on the front I will have 245 45/17. Maybe you live in the ghetto and your homies will like the spinners. Sounds like you are not in a mustang for a classic car but somebody that likes ruining cars... I really want to quit my job, but it doesnt mean I will or have to. Who is paying for these you or your dad? Do what your father says...

Hey Jon,

Don't let 03gtconv get you down. A car is a extension of your personality and a matter of taste. I don't like the new "ricers" but that will be the sports car of the future. We would have never gotten a piece of history with Carroll Shelby unless he wanted to go "outside the lines" to create the Cobra. (I still think they had way too much beer that day, and you know what happens when guys sit around and drink with a bunch of car parts around) I can't give you any insight on the tires, but enjoy, and create what you think is your perfect car. Tom

spinners on a mustang is just like pouring chocolate milk in fruit loops , just isnt right ! and yes 18's affect your torque with out spacers plus more parts will be hurting .... 17s ride alot smoother also ...

chocolate in fruit loops.....not right......WTF Mate! You should have said, "spinners on a mustang is just like Lamb and tuna fish, just isnt right !"

Anywho you can put 18's on your car, becuase it is YOUR car. Spinners, thats up to you, Your ride quality may suffer some becuase of the side wall heigh being so small.

Okay I have to put my two cents in here...stick with the 17s and DO NOT GET SPINNERS...they are really mega ghetto. If you really want to go fancy check out http://www.chipfoose.com/wheels.aspx, the dude from Overhauling. If you must get spinners, he has some that don't look so ghetto.
