Default suggestions on v6 exhaust

i recently did the sequential lights mod on my friend's 03 v6 mustang. i love the look on it but it was a pain getting the original flasher out of its spot. she noticed that the tailpipe was rusting on the edges and i told her i would look around and see what i can do for her. the easiest and cheapest route would be to add an exhaust tip but would this do anything for performance? what would you guys recommend for an aftermarket exhaust system for singl exhaust? thanks for any help in advance

Default Hey

It would give you no more HP to just put on a tip... You would need new exhaust for that... But the tip would make it look nicer... I just got done puting a single homemade side exaust on my 96 v6... It sounds nice look cool and if you ask me it seems to be 10HP faster I have a lot more throtal power... I realy can feel the diffrents... I just fixed it up a couple days ago and today I had several people ask me if it was a v6 or v8... If any ane is interested in knowing how i did this i will post some pics and a list of parts you would need. Took me less than 40$ to do... I also put a big crome tip on looks sweet...

i'd like to see your homemade solution but my friend would rather have everything already made and just replace the old piece with the new. what brand of exhaust systems do you recommend? im looking for single output rear pipe, no fancy h/x pipe needed.

To be honest with you it dosent realy matter. Just go to a muffler and exaulst place and tell them to hook you up with some douls. Will be cheaper. Unless you put in a x pipe or such its no big deal thats where all the loud sound is and HP... My friend went to his mufler place they put some on for 200$ and sound realy good. Just standered muflers and parts nothing special. And it gave give him some extra RWHP and sounded realy nice. Hop this helps. Check out my pics at www.v6racingclub.com tell me what you think.

The exhaust looks nice and I like its location, but its sitting too close to the road for my liking. Does it hit any bumps on high speeds?
