hi they should put a post for automatic mustangs in the forum i have a 2001 v6 3.8 automatic and most of the mods and tec are for stick .
What do you mean? As long as it's not tranny related, all mods work for both . ..

The only non-trannie mod that may have an impact on whether you have an auto or stick is gears. All other issues are pretty generic.
The auto is pretty much the same as the GTs in later years -same stuff applies, Shift Kit, higher stall converter, cooling, etc.,
The biggest improvement (though expensive) would be to move to a 2500 rpm stall on the converter. I wouldn't do it until the tranny was dead, though . ..

On the 99+ 4.10's, a good tranny cooler, a modified valve body (J-Mod preferred), and possably a higher stall convertor ( 3,000 rpm or so) will make a huge difference.
Being 99+ you will need a chip or tuner to recalibrate for the gears.
not really , 3.8s are not the fastest car out there but there darn decent and really reliable .... id take a 3.8 mustang over a cavilier or civic anyday !!! and with there so much out there to make the v6 mustang a bad a$$ ride

I agree 100% about the cav. and civic... but why fix up the 6 when you can buy a 8? I just cant justify doing minor boltons, knowing that a stock GT will still kill my car. I have dual exhaust and intake, but I've done that with the last 3 vehicles I've owned.
