Default Opinions on adding dual Exhaust to my V6.

Im planning on adding dual exhaust to my V-6 mustang and want to know if anybody has any complaints, or reccomends the exhaust. Its a Steeda dual exhaust system, and I'm hoping it will give my mustang somewhat of a muscle throaty sound. Any opinions?

I have dual flow masters, doesn't sound any where near a v8, but it's still some what noticable. I'm about to throw on a x-pipe.

Just keep the diameter between 2.25 and 2.5

if you like muscle -pick up an h-pipe.

ull never get a v6 to sound like a v8 no matter how hard u try , you can come close by cutting off your muffler but then again thats just down right noisey ... Ive heard that mac kits tend to run down after a year or two and the gas or sound doesnt all that much improve , alot people like magna flow or flowmasters wich i use and love !!! they sound great and give me a notch in gas milage . Also alot of people say magna flows sound really nice n tend to last a while but if u wana take it up a step you could get a borla kit or roush side kit (wich is mainly looks with some decent proformance) but they come at a higher cost... it all depends on sound and power gain .. but steeda i havent heard to much about so just google up steeda exaust reviews n see what comes up

I've got true dual 40 series flows(2.25"), with 22" slant tips in the back (3.5" diameter) in my opinion, before I added the slant tips, the car sounded pretty dull, not loud at all. The tips really gave it that deep throaty sound. I've had many people tell me how great the system sounds. Hope this helps out.

Unless you have a V6 with heavily modded internals, or running a forced induction system, stay with the 2.25" setup.

I still have the small, 2.25 pipes (no tips). If I was to pay $60 for some stainless steal tips how much would it help my sound? It isn't worth it just for looks 2 me...

Oh yea same set up as him^ twin 40 series flows (2.25)

muffler is the biggest thing, tips will help resonate the sound the bigger the tip, the deeper the tone, but tips have nothing on muffler.

h-pipes cancel out the high pitch in frequency. but the h-pipes still don't matter as much as the muffler.

Go to mustangexhaust.com and listen to the clips there.

It would the x-pipes don't cancel much of the high pitch. It would sound more like a 350Z.

If you haven't done it yet look into flowmaster 2 camber mufflers and a off road pipes ( if the law don't care about no cat.) go pipes highflow X-pipes.

I have the Mac o/r h-pipes and the magnaflows GT catbacks and it sounds and
looks great. But its not a V8. You can get the o/r h-pipe for the V6 at American
Muscle.com. Cost is $169.00.
