I hope you are at least going to eat the bas**rd. Save the backstrap (aka tenderloin) to slice and fry. Turn some of the other parts into jerky to eat while you are fixing the Mustang - poetic justice.

How bad is it? Any chance of swapping out the front clip for an undamaged one from a junkyard and then getting fresh paint, or is there damage to the frame, etc.? Hope you can fix it and still be able to do some of those engine mods. Good luck!

Watch out you don't get your car confiscated for taking a buck out of season.

I can only imagine. He's going to need you to be strong for him.

Earlier this year, I had a four pointer run across in front of my Mustang on the Interstate. It was a decent distance ahead, so it didn't bother me too much - until the stupid critter reached the other side, turned around and ran right back across! Luckily, there wasn't anyone close behind me at the time so I was able to hit the brakes and slow down enough to avoid hitting it, but it surely didn't do me any good. Things like that are a big part of the reason I'm using this as a daily driver as much as possible - I'll hit the deer, do little or no damage, and carry the darn thing home on the front bumper:

Of course, it can also probably hold its own with the ricers, cell phone addicts and 'too old to turn their heads' grandpas that like to pull out in front of oncoming traffic and cut me off, too!

Thanks Guys!!!! The whole front clip is gone. It needs a new lf fender, air dam, hood, lights, grill, washer fluid bottle, and all the attached hardware including the striping. One good thing will come out of it though, I'll get the SVT diffuser hood along with the bumper. The hood was going to be an upgrade for the SC to help with the engine temps.

Yes JB, I will enjoy the venison. The guy who towed the car is going to cut it up and give me some.

No harm done to me though. That's good, but my baby is pretty messed up. It has become a part of the family, that's what hurts.

Man -sorry to hear that.

but look at it this way, you can get Carbon Fiber and move the battery to the rear while all the wiring's exposed . . .- lighten the front end by 40+ lbs!

You have the technology...

You can make it better...

Stronger...

Faster.

Glad you are okay. Physically, at least.

Wasn't there some discussion of you and Shine1Stang getting a parts car? Anything on there you'd be able to use?

Hey everyone, I'm back from my mini-vacation to see the family. I received the estimate yesterday, $5426.00!!!!! Ouch!!!! At least it's covered under my policy. I have been looking around for some upgrades as long as we're at it. I want the svt front fascia and heat extractor hood, but now looking into body kits for it too. Not sure what I'm going to do, but this is my time to be creative. Talking with the body shop-BTW he has an 06GT with the Roush body kit on it- he advised not to go fiberglass with the hood due to fitment problems. Even the adjuster agreed. Any thoughts guys/gals?

KS, I like the heat extractor hood on the website you posted above. Very Sweet!!!! Should I still go with some type of heat extractor? I figured it would be a good move with the SC. I'm not sure the body shop will want to buy one of these and put it on for the price-deductible.

JB, I will make it better, but the car that my Son and I are going to buy won't be available until after the Spring. That's when my buddy wants to trade it in. Story of my life, six months short of a full car.

Oh yeah, I also picked up my Venison from the butcher. I will hold a special ceremony when I eat that sucker......
Tom

Tiger's hood is Carbon Fiber . . .

Putting a hood on the 94+ cars is a piece of cake. you can have the shop paint it, and install it yourself, and save the labor. if you have the itemized estimate, you can remove the costs for the installation of the hood and bumber cover.

It's nothing like doing a 1968, or even a 1982 hood.

The toughest thing will be aligning the fender. but I think you don't need shims as much as you used to on the older cars . ..
