Are Powerslot rotors much better than regular rotors and worth the extra cost?
Are they worth it? I need new front rotors and I'm debating whether to get regular rotors or pay more for the Powerslots if they are that much bettter.
For everyday driving no its not worth it , you can get a set of Hawk brake pads on the stock rotors and get the same or better results

There is a company called 88rotors.com that sells all four slotted rotors for $129.00 free shipping. I bought them in the Spring, and they are holding up really well. Put some decent pads on, and they stop on a dime. They sell them on Ebay as "buy it now" for the best price.....
These are GREAT, I had them on my Camaro and several of my friends have them on their various cars. They've never had a problem with them, not even warping.
Most rotors are for looks, and it really doesn't matter, but some of the cheap ones have been causing accidents because they'v ebeen cracking.
They generally are knock-offs imported from China, and sold on E-bay. Get them from a reputable source, and get the lightest you can for your money.
it will help in both acceleration and in mpg.

The weight won't vary much, unless you pick up a set with an aluminum hat.
Get the lightest you can from a REPUTABLE manufacturer.

Baer, Wilwood, Brembo, OEM, Powerslot, Stainless Steel Brake, EBC, Those are the ones off the top of my head . . .

The big thing for me is that it comes from a country where you can actually sue, if they crack.
I buy USA wherever I can, because the lawyers keep 'em honest. If the rotor breaks, I can get compensation, report it to the BBB, etc.,
Most of the cracking rotors seem to be knock-offs from China/Taiwan/Malaysia, etc., and sold on E-bay.

I still don't trust stuff from Taiwan, as every tool I've ever bought, that's been made in Taiwan has broken, and it always means a busted knuckle when they go. I bought a set of ratchets from O'Reilley's and those were the only game in town. If the three, the last one broke while i was putting in my waterpump -I've only used them a few times.
All my Craftsman stuff was stolen when I was in California, and I've been buying Craftsman tools when I need a tool whenever I can.
Stanley stuff used to be ok, but I had an adjustable wrench give way - and I looked at the country of origin -China.
Screwdriver broke - Taiwan.
The tools that last are the ones made in the USA.

I would buy rotors from MOST of Europe, Australia, Japan, Canada, and Mexico, for the most part. Eastern Europe I'd be leery of.
But all of those countries enforce safety standards, and Intellectual Property. That's really how to decide if you want to take a chance on them.

I bet you if you dug hard enough you will find that most stuff that is suppose to be made in USA, Europe, Australia is made in China now days, even if it says it's made elsewhere, like all materials and hardware in China and then they stick the tag on in another country and claim it is made there...

The Unions would be all over them, and the truth in labeling lawsuits would be enormous, even under the current admin for the Made in USA label.
Which is the fail-safe - even if the stuff in Australia were made in China to lower standards, you can still sue the Australian firm responsible.
