Default Need Scoop and Dashboard advice on '02

I need advice on the scoops and dashboard of my '02 V6. First, the black paint on the side and hood scoops has come off and I need to pop off the scoop covers to repaint them. How do I do that? Second, when my car was getting washed (it is used and the paint and dash happened before I got it) someone used some sort of solvent to try and clean the clear cover over the gauges. Anyway, the solvent fogged up the cover and it is now very hard to read the gauges, so I think I need to get a new cover. How do I go about removing the cover from the dash and approximately how much will a new one cost?

Hey wait Pearce, I believe there is a plastic polish that may work in your situation. Look under the "show and shine" section in the forums. There are several tactics/products to use. I would say give them a try first.

Go to the main forum section, and go down to tech. Right underneath it, it will show a few options. One of them is "show and shine."

Sorry pal, I know nothing about the side scoops..... I've never had to remove mine. Anybody else know?????

if u paint the scoops off of the car and then put them back on the car there will be a noticable color difference due to the rest of the car having been exposed to light.. you really need to have it painted while on the car so that u can blend the colors

That is true Nate unless your going to go with a different color to make them stand out. Take mine for instance, something of the black variety may work.
