Default 2004 V6 single exhaust muffler

Hey guys, I just purchased a 2004 V6 mustang with the factory muffler. I am not trying to get the distinct GT rumble (can't be done due to 2 cyl. missing), but I would like to have a good sound. Any suggestions on which muffler to add?

Sure do..... There are a million threads in the V6 tech section on exhaust. It will pretty much explain the differences when choosing dual exhaust.

Most go with true duals exhaust. They cut the muffler right after the cats, and go back from there. You can also get a GT exhaust and buy the adapter.

Yea dual is really the way to go... since you get HP and sound...

I'm big on saving money, I think everyone is, so I look for the best bang for the buck. I've seen site for GT take-offs for $135 shipped and upwards of $400 for the system. One thing to remember in the exhaust dept. for the V6 is DO NOT get pipes over 2.5 inches in diameter. Having greater than 2.5in pipes will cause too much flow and you will actually LOSE power.

There are plenty of sites for you too look at in the Parts/Tech thread of the V6-Tech forum.

I ordered my exhaust a week ago and I cannt wait to put them on. I got the pasetter h-pipe and Mac cat back exhaust. The best thing to do is listen to sound clips because people like differnt sounds. So you can found one that sounds good to you.

yea, each one will sound different...you should really just pick a sound you like... since the muffler does not add power... just changes the sound...

I went with a single Magnaflow and no rear cats which I think sounds pretty good for a 6. Sounds deep down low and a nice rap in the higher rpms.
