Well this past weekend has been an experience of a lifetime! My father and I pulled the engine out, and have the heads off. We also took the oil pan off to look on the inside and it looks good! A buddy of mine, a mechanic for 6 years, help with the work and took a look at everything and said it was a very clean.
Next step is to send the heads out to get p&p and then throw her back together with the new addition!
CANT WAIT!!!

Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his countrymen work for nothing...Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar?Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just,so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well...But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain,on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion. Jer 22:13, 15-17
Timeline???? Before we forget how to put it back together......
har-dee-har-har-har!
How soon till you get the heads back?

Not sure.....Still working on some stuff with GT EATER. We may go to SSX for the sheet metal, lower and heads, and Delk or Morana for the forged pistons. GT is telling me that the pistons may take 4-6 weeks. Then to whomever for the SC. Any thoughts that could be of some help?

you can always use the rotating assembly from a SC engine, shipping won't take nearly as long, but if you're wanting to reduce the rotational masses, then go with the custom pistons . ..
Depends on the goal & budget!

Well i would like to keep it around 7k. I would like to make the engine as strong as possible. With the addition of a procharger of course. Thats the whole reason we decided to do this. I would also like to have the car ready for april, or whenever the snow is gone!

GT, I talked with Tom Y again yesterday. A whole assembled engine with what we want is $6,400. I still need to talk with Jr to find out what he wants to do. What we discussed as far as getting the bottom end done along with the heads/intakes/tb is around 6k without gaskets/studs. Either way, it will be 10-12 weeks turn around time. That puts us into almost May.
Well at this point in time (given that the engine is out and tore apart) we might as well do it right. If i have to wait for the SC then fine. It will be worth it because i will have a great power plant that will be RELIABLE and fast.
The SC could be a project for next winter.

Hey Kid, when you come over here today, stop by the house and pick up the pad of paper on the counter with all the info from Tom Y on it. I have more here at work to compare.
GT, are you gonna be around about noon or so to have a small conference call with Jr? I can call you from the office.
