a CAI, depending on where you get it will run about $50 - $200+ and gives about 5-10hp.
a traction-lok limited slip differential http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/m...egory_Code=38L is $194 with shipping. This won't give you an HP, but will make you accelerate a little faster, now that both tires are putting power to the ground.
If you know how to do engine work, you can get about 50hp by doing a split port intake and head swap. Use the intake (upper and lower) and heads from a 99 - 04 V6 mustang. Intakes are about $50 for each piece and the set of heads will run about $100. It all depends on where you go 6to get them though.

Well, if you're getting the same answers, it seems your situation can't support your aspirations.

you are not going to get any better answers. There isn't any magic beans that you can put in your gas tank for speed. Speed = $$$, plain and simple there is no way around it. The mods you have heard so far are some of the cheapest out there, for example I have done pretty much all the mods that have been recommended and right now I am working on a project totaling around $3000. That is considered a limited budget. I guess if all you want the car to do is go faster you can remove the rear seat and the power window mechanisms and save some wieght but thats about as far as free mods go.

then he's going to have to find an buy manual window cranks and regulators.
I really don't have much invested, since I sell off OEM parts on E-bay to finance the new ones.
The major costs to me have been in the chassis, since there's nothing to sell off. But my radio, speakers, OEM intake, wheels, etc., all sold for good money, which knocked 40-50% or more off the cost of the upgrades.

He's an unemployed 16 year old kid, who doesn't like school.
Not likely to be able to afford a N2O system anytime soon ,. ..

I think he should be more concerned with fixing it up first before buying performance parts. His front end is smashed in, missing the passenger side front fender and the rear passenger fender is dented in. That would be my top priority before building performance.
