If you go with a chip, get a multiprogram capable chip.
that way you can switch tunes for what you're doing.
Driving normally and want to use 87 octane, switch to program one, -just loaded up with 92 octane -switch to the tune. Using a power adder, switch to tune #3.
Some have as many as five different tunes.
1 -normal
2 high octane
3 race
4 race or high octane + power adder
5 two power adders plus race tune.
Pretty trick.

I just dont like chips because every time you take it to a dealer to run diagnostics you have to pop it off; but with a tuner you can just reprogram.
ah, but unless the original program is on the car when you take it to the dealer, he can really screw it up if Ford issues a download.
With a chip, there are no worries when you disconnect the chip.

I always set it to stock parameters before I take it in, but I did not know that about taking it to a dealer. Well the dealer I take it to my dad is friends with the service manager and he knows I have work done, so he would give me a heads up.
