Exhaust will add some don't know about 20 HP though but the throttle body will not add anything on a stock engine , the stock one is pretty good , the CAI is a good idea , with the UDP's on ,the exhaust and under drive pulleys ,gears and a good tune you will notice a nice difference , now its not going to pin you in you seat or anything but you will notice a nice difference. Also the throttle body spacer is almost worthless IMHO.

Exhaust will gain from 15-25 HP depending on the type, size, ect.. CAI you will gain 5-7 HP... you will not notice anything from CAI... It will sound better but you will not feel the difference

Well u can always find a 5.0 with a carb and go that way and throw some nitrous on it for 2000K if you find a cheap motor and do all the work yourself. You can find a old 5.0 and T5 tranny for 500$ an another 350-400 to put a intake and carb on it then, 600$ for a nitrous setup with most of the extra accessories and bam at least 300+.

And don't forget the modifications to the K-member to allow the 8 to fit, maybe a new driveshaft if the tranny is a different length. So with only 2K to spend, I wouldn't suggest this route.

When you go for the exhaust, don't go over 2.5in on the V6. If you're going to get headers, shorties don't do anything for power maybe +1 or 2 hp. With headers, you'd have to get long tubes to increase your RWHP. At the same time, it might not be legal in your state, because you'd have to remove the catalytic converters. If you relocate them it will increase your RWHP some, but then you'd have to relocate the 02 sensors also. When you relocate the 02 sensors, you'll then need to get 02 wire harness extenders or a delete kit. either way, you have 4 02 sensors and the extenders and delete kit cost $50 each, so you're looking at $200 for that.

going that route would be HP for cheap but it sounds like this guy still wants a solid daily driver. swapping out the motor and tranny may hurt his longevity and will definitely hurt his mileage.

I know it is hard to find v6 stuff so here are some links to things you might be interested in.

These are motive 3.73 gears
http://www.americanmuscle.com/mopepl3gefor.html

This is a package deal (option D) that will give you both the programmer and the UDP. I am not a big fan of these guys but they are the only one that offers 42% reduction.

These guys have a lot of stuff for the six

As do these

I didn't have a good experience with RPM Outlet. I ordered a 160* thermostat for my 97, and they sent me one for a different car. When I called them, they said to email them the issue and they would then respond with a return #, but they never did. Called them a few times, but nothing was ever resolved, worst customer service ever encounterd. Now I'm stuck with a t-stat for an unknown vehicle, worst $15 of my life. Screw those guys.

Thats because they dont make a 160 for a mustang... it has to come from another car... they all fit the same
