I Just got my 03 3.8 mustang and i need more hp. I had money for gt but couldnt afford insurance. So any suggestions where to start?
You need to figure out your goals, then you can develop a budget and a plan. You also need to think about how long you're going to keep the car.
For starters, I'd recommend working on efficiency, then you can invest your savings.

Well u can always find a 5.0 with a carb and go that way and throw some nitrous on it for 2000K if you find a cheap motor and do all the work yourself. You can find a old 5.0 and T5 tranny for 500$ an another 350-400 to put a intake and carb on it then, 600$ for a nitrous setup with most of the extra accessories and bam at least 300+.
the 5.0L will not run without a lot of electronic changes, and a k-member swap. The tranny in the car is already stronger than an old 5.0L tranny.
The cost would be significantly more than $2000.

I plan to have this car for 4 years, until i get out of college, im just lookin for a solid car with as much hp as possible without goin to nitrous or supercharger. Im sayin anywhere around 250 hp
This is a package deal (option D) that will give you both the programmer and the UDP. I am not a big fan of these guys but they are the only one that offers 42% reduction. http://www.rpmoutlet.com/newv6m.htm
This is one time I wouldn't recommend something. Go with Ford Racing gears, there will be fewer issues with the install.

Just do a cam swap with a GT takeoff exhaust, CAI, GT Takeoff rear sway bar, and underdrivers.
If you're only gonna have it for 4 years, I wouldn't do much more.

That would be a good start to make it a little peppy, but wouldn't he also need a programmer for the cam? or are you suggesting he take to the dyno for that? For a light set-up like that I figured a mail order tune would do fine considering the cost of dyno tuning.

no they don't. if they didn't make one for the mustang, then why did they have it advertised on their site as such?
the t-stat they sent was about an inch TOO long. it doesnt fit. it wont even compress that much to try to make it fit.
