I know this thread is old but I like posting on old one's intead of starting new threads.

I have all the mods listed in my sig as well as a rear end girdle, GT clutch, and aluminum flywheel sitting in the garage.

I e-mailed Tom Morana and ask him he thought I needed anything else to prep the car, and he said that I had to have the 8.8 rear end from the GT. Now I didn't think that my goals (280-300hp) would be to extreme to have to change out the rear end, what do you guys think?
I e-mailed him back like 2 weeks ago and he still hasn't responded .
I have the money burning a hole in my pocket just waiting to get the goodies but I want to know for sure that I have everything I need.
Thanks for the hlep.

300 hp is where it starts getting into the range of breakage, some people run tens of thousands of miles, others break it on the first launch. With the rear girdle you should be fine unless you abuse it.

hmmm... that presents a problem, I was going to add roller rockers in with the heads, cam, and intake manifolds and if I install all of these and I take it to a dyno and have anywhere over 295hp (crank of course) then I will have to replace something else. If I put in a 8.8 rear end then both the rear end girdle and T-lok will be useless to me. Is there anything I can do to beef up the 7.5"? Trust me either sooner or later I will abuse it.

The problem is doing 3-6000 RPM clutch drops under boost.

you'd have to ask GT-EATER about NA.

I think you'd be fine so long as you're not boosted.

Thanks.
