Default Aftermarket Throttle Body

I was going through some performance parts earlier today and was wondering about aftermarket throttle bodies. What would I gain by replacing the stock with an aftermarket? Is it worth it and what type of gains would I get by doing so? Thanks.

Accufab, Accufab, the quality and precision is unmatched even from ford. When I took it out of the box I was blown away and I have had ford racing, BBK, and others and Accufab is the only product I would put on my baby.

I see, thanks for the recommendation. But, I was kinda wondering what kind of power gain I would get from the aftermarket throttle body and where would I notice the power gain. In terms of horsepower, does it add any. I'm kinda clueless about this.

Accufab generally has better gains than any other brand. But to tell u the truth take about 50% off of what any company says what you should expect to gain and that is about what you would dyno at. But call steeda their techs are very good. If you are looking at 35 hp from just a TB you are most likely going to be disappointed. The dyno can be a major disappointment or a surprise every car is different. What may give u 15hp another car my be lucky to get 5hp.

The gains you generally see are when the car is blown or nitrous fed where the motor can use the excess flow that is where u get the most gain out of a better flowing item.

So then my next question would be, is it worth replacing if you don't have forced induction or NOS in your car?

Yes the 05 and up intake setup is very restrictive but u need to do the entire cold air to get the full effect.

Ok cool, I intended on installing a CAI and exhaust before I replace the throttle body on my car. Thank coolwater, you've been very helpful!

Accufab doesn't have v6 applications.

no. You'll get better throttle response, though.

BBK TB's seem to be the first choice with most.

The throttle bodies are all comparable (it's physics - air through a larger hole) any differences are more likely due to the conditions of the day, or tweaking the dyno.

BBK makes the only plug and play throttlebody.
