Question Mustang GT Suspension Swap to 1995 V6 Mustang. What do I need?

ok i want to get a strut brace and such from a gt and put it on my v6...

what should I look for?

I have a 1995 3.8....

will any 94-98 parts work? what about 99-04?

i hear the stock GT parts are thicker and will work better than some aftermarket parts...

I want the strut brace and sways.... im not good with part names so correct me if im wrong...

Any of them will work, but if you're gonna use a roots blower, you should probably get a blown cobra model to clear the SC.

Rear shocks and sway bars will work with a GT spec, but you "should" get front springs and shock for a v6 application, but with the SC nose weight, that may not matter.

The only parts that are thicker or any different are shocks, springs, and sway bars from a suspension standpoint.

so for the strut brace I should look for a blown cobra, but I think i have seen a GT strut bar with the roots blower... does anyone know if it will fit? what exactly will the strut brace do for the suspension? what will I notice

well what would be the gain in using the shocks and springs from a gt?

but the sways from any GT will fit on my 95?
are they direct bolt ons? with the thicker sways from a GT what will I notice?

I have an inch of clearance on mine, so I know it wouldn't clear.

it keeps the shock towers and the front clip from flexing.

It will keep you from cracking/fatiguing the sheet metal along the bottom of the front subframe, and will positively locate your suspension geometry, keeping you going in a straight line when you're drag racing, and keeping deflection to a minimum when you're cornering.

The shocks and springs are crappy on the GT, just slightly less crappy than the ones on the six.

Even the Midas and Sears stuff would be considered an upgrade.

The sway bars are good. Mainly because the six is so much lighter than the GT, they don't need as much stiffness.

Ask Kmag -he just installed a rear. the difference is amazing. Launching and cornering is much more controllable.

ok so sways from any gt any year will work... sounds good....

what intake are you using?? the split port?
i think the split port is even taller than the eaton setup...

its rather short....

i will measure how tall the intake with sc and top is... it shouldnt be more than about 10 or 11 inches....

Oh, yeah, you're right . . . You'll have to get the numbers from someone else on that one.

Try the TCCOA for clearance numbers . .

he said it was a gt strut brace, but he dosent know if it will clear the stock IC pipes, he only had that brace on with the custom IC piping....

I have a friend with a gt... when i get my motor installed i will just take off his strut brace, and install it on mine, just to see if it fits...
