Default 1995 Mustang V6 3.8L Does It Matter What Grade Of Unleaded Gasoline I Use?

on my 1995 v-6 it says unleaded gas only...is it not a good idea to buy premium gasoline? would it make any difference in performance?

no unleaded means there is no lead in it, different blends are fine for it. Some say premium unleaded fuel only which means that anything less would make it run rough, but when it is just unleaded any of the three different types will work for your car.

Ok I get that, but do the higher blends create better performance or what?

It helps to clean out the fuel injectors.

It only enhances performance if you are tuned for it .

yea i agree with GT-eater. if your car isnt tuned by like sct/diablo or any other tune for a higher octane level, you wont notice a difference.

They were rated with the 87 octane(regular) unleaded. Anything over that is overkill. One thing to do is make sure you put a bottle of dry gas in it every now and then to keep the system from getting water in it.
