Thanks guys.

Before my new found fun in the mustang, I was driving a Dodge Daytona Shelby, a 2.2L intercooled turbo which was always exciting and fun drive. However the transmission went out, and parts are just too rare these days. I love the RWD of the mustang and was looking into mods to get that exciting, throw your head back into the seat, thrill. The mustang will be a daily driver so nothing too crazy yet. Just looking to improve power and suspension. My goal would be 200hp for now, maybe a possible power adder in the future. Never really been a fan of NOS.

I'v ebeen looking for a CS Daytona in good condition for a while now.

200 hp is pretty easy, just swap in the heads and intake from a 99-01 3.8L, and reprogram the computer.

Heads are selling for around $40, upper and lower intakes for around $25 you'll also need fuel rails and other assorted stuff, -look in the tech forums under split port swap.

I've thought about selling my '89, but my old man still has dreams of an 80's four cylinder hitting 300hp.
Thanks for the port swap idea! I'm Assuming this is the reason for the hp difference between the two.

yep, and your car actually has a hotter cam. So hitting 200hp should be no trouble at all.

what else besides heads, plenums, and fuel rails are needed to do a split port swap? And how much power does a stock 94 v6 make?

145 hp at the crank.

Search for split-port swap for the parts list.

Salvage yard, stang parts, or E-bay.
