Detroit locker is the best... Yes they are hard to install... unless you know what your doing i would recommend having it installed... If your going to wear into it... i would get some gears also... since its the same work... (almost)
Yeah, I agree with Kmagn. Unless you know what you're doing, it could be a nightmare. Don't forget about getting a stud girdle for your rear end as well. The cheap Ford covers are flimsy.....
the ford racing t-loc, doesnt have a clutch or something u need to change at 40k miles? if so what needs to be done

do u mean that after 40k miles u need to buy a new one or do u just need to replace shims and stuff. also another question is when the t lock goes bad after 40 k miles does it just not turn both wheels and just the right one or does it lock up both wheels where u can not drive it??? one more question with 4.10s frpp gears on an automatic at highway speeds of 70mph to 80mph what will the rpms be??

At 70-80 with 4.10's im at 2500RPMs ... I Cant remember if you have to replace the whole thing.. i think you do... Your not going to want to drive it once it goes out... Just get the Detroit Locker...
2500rpms that not bad at all im doing like 2100 to 2200 right now stock. yea im thinking about buying gears and t lock within a month.
i was wondering for an automatic all i need is gear, pinion, t lock, fluid (should i get synthetic if so where from?), and a sct tuner to not mess up my tranny or speedometer. anything else i would need?

The clutches would need to be rebuilt in the t-lock. But that is not the rule of thumb, it is only a measurement of averages.
A programmer would be best for all the changes. Plus you would get extra hp with a good tune. Synthetic is best for the rear, and don't forget about putting in some friction modifier.
