you just take off the cowl cover (two screws on top) for the screw near the drivers side you'll need a bit and a socket, but it's a plastic screw and doesn't need a lot of torque to get it in or out. A screwdriver won't fit.
Then you run your hands over the cowl until you feel the attachments, and use a body trim removal tool and pop it up carefully
remove the weather strip,
unscrew the 6-7 screws that hold in the lower cowl/winshield wiper motor cover& slide it up and over the rear of the engine.
Remove the bolts on the front cowl, put on the brace and mark the firewall to drill.
drill your holes, file the hole smooth, put the back of the brace in from the wiper moter area, put on the brace & hand tighten.
then bolt down the front of the brace and them bolt in the rear.
(this is what I should have done)
put some latex paint along the outside of where the brace meets the firewall and put the lower cover against the back of the brace. Not the outline of the paint and begin cutting the material unti it fits.
Bolt in the lower cowl
replace upper cowl
and you're done.
