Default Nitrous question

Well, after thinking this over a few times I've decided I'm going to put nitrous in my 01' V6. Was looking into possibly getting Zex wet shot kit. Was just wondering if I should modify anything engine-wise before I even put it in the car. Any concerns I need to know about? And is the Zex kit a good kit to go with? Also, I know Zex kicks in via TPS...Can you activate and deactive this function on the fly? I'm thinking yes, just had to ask. And I do not plan on using the N2O so much that I blow the engine up. Just would be a nice addition plus, I like the price on it. Any info would be really helpful. Thank You!

All that should be in the materials you get.

Zex was the only one for a long time with a 3.8L specific kit. You'll be using it every day before you know it.

Everyone says they're only going to use it once in a while

You're probably going to need bigger injectors at a minimum, but wait for the kit, it may already come with them.

Well, the reason I say I don't want to use it a whole lot is because I don't want to beat up my engine, ya know? It's my daily driver and I don't want to blow the engine up. I've heard many good things about Zex so I'm sure I want to go with it. And I do believe it does come with larger injectors in the kit.

Awww man, you're killin me lol! I'm trying to a responsible Mustang owner here and you're just urging me to keep hittin that nitrous button lol. I mean, I don't drag everyday so there wouldn't be much use in tapping that nitrous that much. I mean it is cool as hell to get put back in your seat like that but, geez.

I would get a tune for nitrous first to keep your engine happy. You need to retard the motor 2 degree for every 50 hp shot and also run 2 steps colder plugs, the last thing you want is detonation. Make sure you connect it to a switch that engages only at wide open throttle too besides the activation switch. Why a wet kit? How big of a shot are you going to use? A dry system is safer if you aren't going to big. In a wet system if the fuel solinoid fails your engine will be extremely lean and will burn up in a hurry but with a dry system you only have the nitrous solinoid and if it fails nothing happens.

Nitrous is the most addictive hit you can take.

you'll say "every once in a while,"

Then you've got to show all your friends.

Then you'll rationalize it saying you're just using it recreationally

Then you're looking for reasons to use it

then you'll realize it's an expensive habit, but you can't stop.

So what usually happens is you figure out that with all the bottles you're going through, you could have gotten a SC or turbo, & then you'll throw one of the above on the car so you have have an "automatic drip" of boost.

Then you'll think, what if I added N2O to the SC/Turbo.

And you'll do it.

Then you're going to throw a rod through the roof of your car.

And then you'll be giving Yantzler or Morana a call.

They don't call it 'giggle gas' for nothing. Even if you don't breath it, it will still put a big grin on your face.

are you going direct port? As long as you get a tune for it, it is really not that hard on the engine... wet shot is the way to go... DONT USE A DRY KIT...

So why not go with a dry kit? And yes, I know I'll be cracked out on pushing that little red button, I'm just trying to tell myself I won't be lol. In the back of my crazy mind i've always wanted to put nitrous in my car....So, I thought...What better car to put it in than a Mustang. I drool just thinking about it. I'm not even gonna tell anyone I'm putting it in....muahaha.
