Default Looking To Possibly Buy A 2004 Mustang, Have Alot Of Questions!

Hey Everyone I made a post in the intro area but I figure I would get more info from here.
Ok currently i have a 2000 z24 cavalier 2 door 5 speed no problems with the car runs and looks like mint ect...
For the past couple of weeks ive been looking around for a new car as im at 115,000 km now and ive had the cavalier forever now and well i guess its time to change.
Anyways I was at a chevy dealer when I noticed in the show room this nice White 2004 Mustang
Its V6-auto , with traction control. Convertable, it comes with some nice mustang rims, spoiler, nice sound system mach i think it said, the interor is mint as well as the outside it could pass as new. They where asking 19995 i got it down to 16400 about and then it would just clear 19200 Canadian and thats all in.
I took it for a test drive and yes it was a sunny day and i loved it.
kinda pissed its not a standard....but ya what can you do....
I have a hold on the car and I have a day or two to think about it and do my research.
Ill post some pictures and I would like to know what you guys think.
Its probally cheaper on gas then the v8 ones and less to insure which is great as Im also on a budget.

I also dont know how are they on gas I know I cant compare apples to oranges but not knowing anyone with a v6 i have no one to ask.
So how are they?
I also see snow a few times in the winter and I know that RWD is not the best I know my mom would always fish tale up the drive way in her 1989 mustang but that was long ago and I was young. She also had a v6 but is no source for knowledge.

Anyways thanks

i also have a v6 convertible and it is great on gas. You're right, the rear suspension is very soft and bad in winter but a suspension upgrade or a sandbag in the back will take care of that. The car sounds great!!

Convertibles are more like 25k. But a '07 will probably be under 20k. Then you can get a stick shift, too.

i got a 2004 v6 but it isnt a convertable but they are about the same. i got mine for 15500 USD and its all but bran new. the car has the mach sound system and it rocks. mine is getting about 200-250 miles/tank dont know if the convertable is any different. the traction control i just turn off with the button by the rear defrost. in the winter you might want to use it but i have a truck so i be useing that. mine is an auto and yes im in the same boat you are and i didnt want it but oh well. you might want to get the v6 instead of the v8 for insuance. dont know how your car insurance is but im gettin raped with mine. if you get it enjoy and have fun and be safe.

I have a 2001 v6 and it is all around a great car. I had some issues with gas mileage a little bit ago but thanks to the guys on here I got that taken care of. I'm seein about 16-17 mpg and I do all city driving. Mine is also an auto and I havent had a problem with it. It is a fun car to drive and the insurance is a lot cheaper than havin a v8. My dad has a cobra with the mach system in it and I really like how it sounds. The pics aren't workin for me but it sounds like a good car I would go for it. You won't be dissapointed. Oh and I live in washington and it is constantly raining and we usually end up seein some snow. I haven't had to much problems in the snow just throw a sandbag or something for some extra weight and you will probly be fine.

is that mpg or kmpg? a 5 speed would be better but driving resonable you should get 21-22 mpg mixing city and highway.

you should put in a rear sway bar from a GT #1, and #2 put in a trac-lok for winter. Those are must do's.

on the MPG side, install a reduction crank pulley. Some of us regularly knock down over 400 miles to a tank, which is pretty excellent on the highway.

Sinc eyou're up there in the cold a lot, a CAI will make you get fewer MPG, so stick with the stock stuff.

I get 17.5 city and about 28 highway with my 04 V6 and it's a 5 spd so that 23 / 34 may be stretching it a bit. I paid $12,000 out the door (from a dealer) with 23K miles on it and still under facrory warranty.
