Default Anyone have pictures of a 1996 Mustang V6 with plenum removed?

I just bought a 1996 Mustang 3.8 V6 Convertible. It needs a lot of work, reflected in the price... but the owner said it runs good when it's put together. Problem here is, I did not remove the heads, etc, he did, and so I'm not sure where everything plugs in, mostly under the [upper] intake plenum. I think I figured out how to route the injector wiring for the driver's side, but there are a few things that I just don't see where they go or how to route. So if anyone has any pictures (or would be so kind as to take some) of where things go, I would be deeply appreciative. The Haynes manual I have is almost useless in this area. If it would be helpful, I could post pics of what I can't figure out... anyway, thanks

Default Anyone have pictures of a 96 V6 with plenum removed?

maybe I should show what I am most confused about.
Let me preface by saying that I bought this 96 for $1500, it supposedly had a leak in the intake manifold gasket so the guy pulled the intake and heads, bought gaskets, but never got around to putting it back together. Supposedly it runs good otherwise. I'm putting it together to see, before I clean it. People were literally lining up to buy it on the first day it was listed... Anyway I have done major engine work on a Mazda, but I have never seen a Mustang when everything is assembled. So I don't know where this stuff goes. The Haynes I have is not a lot of help in this regard...
In the first picture, we [mostly] figured out how to route the driver's side harness through the injector rails. But the passenger side is a different story. Where does all that stuff go? How does that thick harness get from the driver's side to the passenger's side? What are those things that look like mini spark plug wire plugs?
And what is that thing in the second picture? There are two little places to plug something into on the bottom of it, what plugs in there? And what do the red and green tubes go to?
Another dilemna is that there are 7 bolts for the valve covers, and 3 studs - bolts with unthreaded protrusions from the top of them. Where do those 3 go? There is no mention of this in the manual.
If I had a good picture I could refer to it, but I've been searching the net for 3 days and have found no good pictures with the upper intake manifold removed. I can't even find the right diagrams on the AllDataDIY.com site. I found one picture on AutoZone's site that looks like the studs go on one valve cover on the lower 3 holes, but ???
Thanks for any help...

This forum isn't letting me post pics to show what the problem is. I appreciate the response and the link, and I did actually find that page before, but it doesn't show what I'm looking for. *sigh* I think I'm going to go walking around parking lots... "'scuse me, may I look under your hood and take a picture?"

Default Restoring this 96 V6 convertible WAS: pictures wanted...

Ah well, I figured it out. pulled the injector rails back off, laid the harness in there, set the rails back on, set the plenum on, and found many of the missing connections. And also found where the _EGR_ goes. Got everything put back together - well, headers aren't connected to the exhaust yet. What a PITA that is going to be...

Put oil in, he told me it was drained... he lied. I shoulda checked. Drained nasty old oil out, till oil level was back down to normal. Put coolant in... nice, it leaks from the top of the radiator where the trans fluid line connects (top connection). Maybe it just needs a washer and real nut to seal it up... I'm anxious to start it, but a little nervous too... I'm pretty sure I got everything right but just 3 days ago I was swapping a V8 head gasket set for a V6 one.

Got a better look at the underside of the front end. There's some interesting body repair work. Bumper's gonna come off, I may have to learn how to weld... the headlights are propped up with foam, etc. It's amazing how much you miss when the Mustang Convertible you're looking at is only $1500, I still don't feel ripped off but it's turning into more work than I had originally thought. And there's lots of goo all over the underside. They didn't make it easy to get to the bottom of the engine, did they?

Finally got the driver's seat out. The carpet is horrible, it's been wet all winter, apparently. The seat rails are rusted, and the power seat isn't working. Wasn't that fun. Carpet is coming out - looks like I need to take off all the plastic that borders the carpet to get it out, but I'm done for tonight. Debating whether I want to get new seats or attempt to restore the ones I have.

Anyway that's where I'm at. If anyone wants to offer some advice now, feel free...

Sounds like a project!

Get new seats, you'll get better quality, lighter, and they'll cost about the same as restoring your old ones.
