Default 1997 Mustang V6 help

I own a 1997 mustang v6 completely stock. I was thinking on putting a supercharger but i don't have the money for it right now, so i decided to put a underdrive pulley for the moment. What do you guys think of the MotoBlue HO 42% underdrive pulley? I was also loking forward to a demolet Densecharger and a GMB water pump. I don't know if the BBK 70mm throttle body would be a good investment? Does it fit my car? I would appreciate it if you guys could tell me were can i get this parts for a reasonable price? Or is there other parts better than those I mentioned above. And also about how much more HP will i be making?

The pulleys are good as long as you dont have a 2000 watt stereo or something...the CAI will be good since you will gain some HP and mileage... you dont really need a 70MM Tb since the car is stock... it would be nice when you get the SC... also i would get a 99+ Gt sway bar, sub frame connectors, and a tuner...

I wouldn't get the 42% myself, I've heard too many people complain about not charging well anymore, running hotter and so on. I would go with the 25% so everything still works right. I would agree with Kmagn13 on the TB, it won't help on a stock motor. Last is the CAI. If you remove the silencer and install a K & N filter it will work just as well and still be legal. Most CAI's are not legal in Ca. unless it has a C.A.R.B. sticker, without it you can get a ticket and it won't pass smog.

I've never heard of anyone having problems with the UDP's and not charging. The only problem's I've heard about are people not installing the crank pulley correctly and getting wobble. Also, DO NOT get the crank pulley that piggy-backs the stock pulley, get the crank pulley replacement. You're just adding more rotational mass and it's not going to give the full effect of freeing up HP.

I put 120,000 miles on my 42% and never had a problem until one of the diodes went out at 156,000. Alternators generally give up the ghost at around 100,000 miles, so I can't say it affected my car in any way, except for the better.

I'm running a competition amp.

THe only problems come with multiple amps and subs. and then you really should get a HO alternator, anyway.

I just realized that your's is a 1997, like mine. The 42% will cause TOO much drain on your charging system. I got a 25% UDP set from these guys, http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...id=81&parent=0 and have not had a single problem. It's been on for about 4 months or so.

They don't make 'em for the 1997, anyway .. . 25% is the biggest reduction available.

Don't remove the silencer. You'll draw in hot air. It's not a restriction on the pre-99 cars anyway.

Dropping in a K&N will do as well as any other CAI on pre-99 cars -The heads don't flow enough for massive gains on the intake side (or the exhaust for that matter).

ok so my final bet would be on the 25 % pulley. how much horsepower would i gain and whats a good brand for them. Does the gmb water pump really releases some horsepower or should i just leave the stock pump?

I think they claim about 6-7 hp with an underdrive pulley but that's at the crank so I'm guessing about 3-4 at the wheels. i would stay with the stock pump myself. If you want to add some hp and tq convert to a split port intake. That's a mod you'll feel.
