Default HID Conversion wiring kit?

Hey,

I just bought some new headlights for my car and I was just wondering if getting HID lights wiht the stock wiring harness would harm it in any way. I bought a pair of 9007 blue HID xenon healdights and I was wondering if it would be worth the $400 to spend on the HID conversion kit seen on this website. Mustang HID Headlight and Foglight Package

Just let me know what you think if you have any knowledge about the wiring and if a stock wiring is as the one on the website.

Thanks
00fivespeed

P.S. Could anyone tell me how to put a pic on my profile....Appreciate it

I don't think that it is worth the money... what lights did you get... did you get ones made for HID? if they are 9007 6000K or something like that then you should be fine...

Careful with the wiring. There were a number of fires here in Omaha due to incorrect installation of those. There were 3-4 in a row at the dealership.

Hey,

Turns out the lights are 8500k rating 30% Xenon and 40% krypton. Just one question to kscoyote , how could you install lights wrong? Just to make sure I dont make the same mistake of course. Could you tell me if my stock wiring is in any damger after I install these bulbs? Any info will help and as always, I appreciate the help.

thanks
Mike

I just saw the cars, and electronics are voodoo for me. I suspect improper grounding, or inadequate fuses/bad connections, inadequate wiring.

either that or use some alcohol to wipe the body oil off, just make sure all the alcohol has evaporated before turning them on. It's what I have always done, never had a bulb break on me like that.
