V6's get more gas and the lighter front end means the engine works less than a V8 to go just as fast.
This is actually not what I have found. I find that to go just as fast a V6 uses MORE gas, not less than a V8. But when rolling along at moderate highway speeds, the V6 will do better on gas than the V8s. But getting us from a dead stop TO those speeds in a reasonable time (as in not driving like a Granny) the V6 will need to work harder than the V8's.... and use more gas doing so.
In the end, I have found no real gas savings with normal driving (as in how most people normally drive Mustangs) with the V6 vs the V8. Only if you drive modestly and don't push your V6 will you see any significant savings at the pump.
So I always suggest to folks that if they want to drive fast (or "quick"), don't use "gas savings" as a reason to buy one over the other. Pick the one you want and the one you can afford.

yeah but somethings just dont belong on a domestic car let alone a mustang
says who?
dont get me wrong, i also dislike fartcans, huge spoilers, neons, funky headlamps/taillamps and all things of that nature...but its his car and we shouldnt bash him for wanting to be different.
it'd be a bit boring if all mustangs looked the same, wouldnt it?
