Man, after I got my first ticket, and my insurance was more than my car payment, I just evaded if I even THOUGHT I had a chance of getting a ticket!
Never got another ticket until I was past 25, and then when I did, the cop shows me the twin turbos on his Z28 super hi-po, and said they built the car just for me and the rest of the Ft. RIley guys.
My hood pins came out, and I was going 5mph over to get to Western Auto.
A friend of mine was going 10 over, and the cop let him go to get me.
Then he asked me where I got the car painted, what I had under the hood, etc., -I asked him if he was going to give me a ticket or if he just wanted to look at my '68. He said -Boy, Do you have any idea how long we've been trying to catch you?
I told him -6 years?
He said, That's about right, I'm gonna post this one on the bulletin board -you gonna get a ticket, all-right!

I think they call that profiling, and in the famous words of Ron White "Profiling is wrong!"
5 over is pretty chicken ****.

Wow. What state are you in Raz54? I'm in FL and it's legal to do 5 over, making it unlawful for cops to pull you over if you are not exceeding 5 miles over the speed limit. I've found that if you know the specs about tickets and pricing, it helps determine weather or not cops will pull you over down here. For instance, if you are only doing 9mph over the posted speed limit (54 in a 45), the ticket will be about $42, which doesn't even cover the cost of donuts for the station. If you are exceeding the zone by 10mph (55 in a 45) the ticket jumps up to about $120. Many times down here if you are cruising at only 9mph over and not making drastic lane changes, cops won't even bother to write you a measly $42 dollar ticket.
my friend that worked with me got 3 tickets in a 2 month period and his last ticket he got for doing 3mph over speed limit. he went to court and the judge told him to leave and not worry about the ticket and that it was ridiculous for a cop to even do that.

It is nice to hear that someone in the justice system has some common sense. 3mph?!, you can that much difference in your speedometer just by having your tires too low at 70!

I get lots of love up here. Even GT owners give "thumbs up".
Nothing but compliments from the locals and when out "shopping".
Only negative comment came from a 2004 V6 owner who was jealous.
His Mustang doesn't sound like mine. <wink>

I could have bought a GT, but I don't really care for the big fog lights and have no need for a V8. I found my '06 V6 Tungsten grey vert and got a very very very good deal on it. I'm happy and have had nothing but complements. I guess if anyone in a GT ever says anything I'll ask them why they didn't buy a Selby.
i just got mine, told my friend that i got a v6, and he asked me why i didnt get a GT. Hes driving a malibu, so I asked him why didnt he get a impala. he shut up quick.

to me a mustang is a mustang. V6 or V8 it doesn't matter. Because in the end V6 can have more power than a v8 and the other way around. It's the person between the seat and the steering wheel that makes the car what it is. I know as of right now, I can't beat a mustang v8, I haven't put any mods on yet. I've beaten plenty of other v8's. I've beaten a 3rd Generation Camaro V8 (I used to own one and I know what they're capable of), a Cadillac STS, and a Acura Integra. I'm proud of beating the first two because they're v8's but the integra was just embarrassing lol. all it had was that oversized and annoying exhaust that makes it sound like its going somewhere but its really not. I was laughing my rear-end off the whole way home.
But yeah, I used to be a Chevrolet man, a Camaro V8 driver to be exact, I just kept quiet about it being a v8, because its just a v8. People respected me more for not caring about that and from some of the topics and signatures people have here I see that people are stingy and a little too proud to have a v8. If I remember correctly there's a sig that says "V6's are good parts cars". Oh well I guess haha.
I got my v6 just as a daily driver. It has evolved a lot since then. I own both a GT and a 6er. My V6 is 4 times the car my GT is and a lot more fun to drive. I use my GT as my daily beater.
I bought my V6 because after a year of walking an hour to work after rolling my Probe I needed something, ANYTHING. I was working part-time and going to school full-time, so cash was short. I went to a local dealer that my step-dad knew pretty well and he knocked $2k off the sticker, placing it just within my price-range of $4,000. It was the cheapest car on the lot and the only thing I could afford at the time. Every GT in the area that I've seen was at the very least twice the price.
Naturally I hear about my inferior 3.8 four days a week. I work with my best friend who drives a '98 GT complete with flowmasters and 'pull-me-over' stripes and we switch off carpooling to work. Engine envy is an ugly thing.
Of course even a V6 'stang is more than enough to earn 3 tickets in six months...
I was wondering why Ford just doesn't install the T-Lok at the factory for the V6. The part isn't very expensive, yes I understand that the labor is, but it's already being installed on the GT & Cobras.
It just doesn't seem right not to install it on their flagship sportscars.

What exactly does a "T-lock" do? Never heard of one before.
