I have a 96 V6 mustang and im wondering what would be the most efective way to increse the the performance of my mustang. I am already planing on replacing the exaughst system.(including the headers) if it helps i dont want to spend more than $1500 on it not including instilation.
For the amount you want to put in your car, you will not be able to do much more than the exhaust upgrade. I would add a cold air induction and underdrive pullies. From there the cost start to climb. Good luck with you V-6, they are nice little drivers.

I would suggest an SCT X-Cal2... Removes the torque limiter in 1st gear, improves throttle response, some HP gain and improved shifting with the auto-tranny. I have an 06 V6 auto... the X-Cal2 made a night and day difference... it's like driving a whole different car than the one I bought! LOL!
I also changed out the stock muffler the first day! The stock muffler is incredibly restrictive.
I just ordered the MMR High Flow Intake with the High Flow Tube... hoping it lives up to it's claims! LOL! It's kind of pricey but dang it looks good! LOL! There are a couple less expensive intake kits...

what do you guys think of nitrous this is wha ti am planning to get for my V6 .
its a fast way to go fast ,and break the engine if not built right . wouldent put it on a old engine if you dont plan to rebuild it soon,, i dont see the system you are looking to install ?

Whoa! Way to dig up an old thread!? I was a freshman in high school when this thread was started!!!
I personally don't like nitrous but if that is what you want then go for it. Three things to keep in mind, 1. Unless you have a forged bottom end don't go over 75 shot 2. Buy all the parts, purge valve, pressure gauge, rpm and gear lockout, etc. 3. And most important have somone who knows what they are doing fine tune it.
oh I guess #4 be punctual about changing your oil.
