im wonder about the horsepower gain of my 3.8 mustang vs. my 1.8 integra gs-r. me and my bud were discussing this at school. he believes what he reads on the internet about how everything is like 35HP GAIN! on headers and junk like that and i dont personally believe its that much. am i wrong?

you arent goin to gain 35 hp with only headers. the reason ads say up to whatever hp gain, is because the cars they test have other mods on them too. headers for your mustang wouldnt be a bad idea though, as they tend to crack and cause exhaust leaks.

but you are right to not believe everything on the internet.

No, it's +- 2 hp. You won't gain much in the way of exhaust mods (outside of duals) until you swap the cam.

you need to be making 250+ hp before they'll make a difference.

An Integra is not going to pickup 35hp either, no where near it.

Exhaust on any stock engine is going to get you 5% as a rule of thumb. The stock stuff would have to be plugged at the cats to make that kind of hp.

So if you have an old integra with plugged up catalytic converters, and suddenly replace the cats AND the headers, yeah.

But a normally functioning system -no way in heck.
