Default Will this combination work on a 1998 Mustang?

Really I wanted to find an exhaust system for the dynomax bullet muffler for the v6 but I was unsuccessful. So I'm wondering if this combination will work:

1.) JBA Cat4ward® Shorty Headers
Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030
-Search 1619s-3

2.) Dynomax Header & Manifold Dual Kit
JEGS High Performance - Your source for Edelbrock MSD Holley Mr. Gasket Moroso
-Search 17444

3.) (2) Dynomax Bullet Mufflers
Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030
-Search WLK-24234

I eventually plan on a bore and stroke kit to 4.4L, would this exhaust combination hurt performance? Thanks in advance,

Don't go to a 4.4, stick with the 4.3.

should work just fine! Your major work should be on the intake, though. that's the real source of restriction. I reckon if you're going with a 4.3, you're planning on a port & polish, right?

yeah, whats better about the 4.3 that the 4.4 doesnt have? Also, I'm going to be getting a CAI from Tunable Induction, sorry i forgot to mention that.

What do you suppose horsepower-wise, this would produce?

Depends on how you get there.

Offset grinding will weaken the crank.

Overboring will weaken the cylinder walls.

Unless you're using a one-off custom made crank, I don't think it's worth it.

the 0.1 extra displacement isn't worth the trouble.

gotcha, almost forgot about that, reminds me of how i went through three motors before realizing i was over boring it haha (the engine would overheat very quickly and would be toast after the race). Do you think the CAI from News (for the v6) is good? It's a plastic one, which seems to be the best performer since its not a conductor of heat.

My main goal as of right now is to get the air flowing in and out of the car to be the least restricted as possible. Are there any other upgrades you suggest? Also, do I have to tune the computer for the air:fuel mixture because it will be taking in much more air?

Thanks kscoyote for your help, seems you know a lot about everything haha, and I appreciate you helping ever since I started here.

I've been running one for years. It's great.

You only have to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, & it will adapt.

The older computers are more flexible than the 05+ ones.

Without changing your cam. The only other item that will assist is an intake manifold spacer that fits between the upper and lower manifold. It will give you more plenum volume and will get you 5-9 hp depending on the width of the spacer.

The throttle-body spacer is worthless.

Dual exhaust, of course. But after that you're going to need a power adder and/or a cam swap to make power from increased air flow.

so until you're ready for that, (because the rockers, springs, etc aren't really built for much more than a mild street cam) focus on efficiency.

alright I'll take a look around ebay do my research, save some people some time haha.

Just ordered the CAI, can't wait to install it. Luckily i'm not going out of my way to install it either haha, I got to replace the spark plugs anyway and the only way to get at the plugs is if you take off the intake so its going to be perfect haha.

when i get the exhaust kit installed (side exit), will there be a conflict when I get a bodykit on the car? If there is a conflict how easy would it be to fix, or should i just get the kit first?

Choose your kit first, then find out if it's compatible . ..

well thats the thing, the exhaust kit is fully modifiable (the pipes aren't bent but they are only long enough for side exit) and I was planning on going with the Roush Side Skirts, are they the same height as the stock side skirts?

They look lower.

Just go with the Roush side skirts and exhaust system. No worries then.

so they're not actually lower? It's just an optical illusion? haha, well that made my stomachache go away because now I don't have to worry about getting the skirts first, I can get the exhaust, because I really wanted to keep my car looking like a sleeper for awhile so i can get some easy kills off of ricers Can't help it haha.

No, I think they are in fact lower, but Roush makes a system for the side skirts, use that one.
