Exclamation Whats the Best For My Motor? 2000 Mustang 3.8L V6

alright i have a question im stuck between getting a chip for my car but it says that it adds 37hp but i think thats a bunch of b.s. is it really please help or what is a good chip to get for my car and remember i have a automatic v6

Hello and welcome. To start, I would seriously doubt that a chip alone would raise your hp by that much. I know that when you use a retune with a CAI (and even an axel back exhaust) you get about 30 +/- hp. K&N is advertsing as much as 53 hp on the GT500 with a tune. But, I am not an expert, and maybe there is technology out there to give you that much increase with just the chip. If so, it is probably just at the crank, not rwhp.

The GT500 being supercharged makes all the difference, much easier to gain HP in the tune. As far as the chip on a V6 goes, I doubt you'll get 37 HP. I've heard the new edge V6 responds better to a chip than the 4.6 does, I don't know if that holds true for the S197. A chip on the new edge 4.6 is good for 5 HP if your lucky, not including dyno tunes.
