Ok I am posting this in the hopes to attract a mature audience, with the intent of receiving positive feedback. With that said this is what I know so far about my car.
I bought the car on april of 06' thru a dealership. It is a Automatic 3.8l v6, the car has dual exhaust and a mach system, 17" GT rims. Other than that it's hard to tell if there has been other mod's done on the car. Still new to the area but I finally found a mechanic who I can trust. So I am going to have him take a good look at the car.
Now, I would like to start making a list of items, to start doing some upgrades on the car. Obviously the first thing is cold air intake...
But if you was me... what other steps would you take/recommend on to give this baby a boost. We are all enthusiast of the v6 here so lets keep it v6 style. And please do not comment on what I see sometimes that divert a forum "buy a v8, you should get a v8" "why didn't you just buy a v8"etc... This is my fourth mustang so yes i've owned a v8, v6 manual and auto. In either case I love both the v6 and v8. No matter the make or style i'm a Mustang enthusiast.

Get a 42% underdriver 1st. a DeMoletor or JLT 2nd. I used to recommend the FIPK, but a lot of people have been havig trouble with it.
Next, pick up a intake manifold spacer, and then you're gonna haveta decide how far you want to go.
But that will get you the best bang for the buck bolt on performance and increase your mpg quite a bit.
If you click on the www logo on my profile, you'll see some of the ideosyncracies of the 3.8L, or you can start going through archives. Just about everything that can come up has come up, & been throughly argued and discussed. Sometimes for 12 pages.
Oh, and throw on a GT Takeoff Sway Bar. It'll give you a lot better handling, and you'll be able to launch with more bite.

I would go for a t-lock for sure and possibly some lower gears, either 3.73's or 4.10's. They won't increase hp or tq but it will feel like they did plus no more one legged burn outs. I love my t-lock, best mod so far. Also as said above an UDP will help how ever I would go with a 25%, not a 42%. With a 25% everything will still function fine but a 42% is kinda pushing it. You can save some money by installing a K & N filter and removing the silencer and it will work as well plus it's still leagal.

The only tim ethe 42% has caused any problems is when people are running multiple amps & subs.
T-Lok and gear start running into $$, so you're gonna have to decide how far you want to go at that point.

Hey Psyko. This is the V6 section. You'll never hear us tell you to get a V8, unless it's the veggy drink..... The mods will depend on what you want your car to do in the long term. If you want to supercharge it eventually, then pullies don't make sense. Gears, sway bar, sub-frame connectors, and t-lock are all universal mods for any car. So that could be a good starting point.
BTW, I found a guy around here that will do gears/t-lock for around $200.00. He's a Mustang guy too!!!!!
Thank you all for the response, I am taking notes and doing my homework in regards to all the suggestions i've been given so far. I am also looking at different threads and gathering info.
I have a question in regards to raz54's comment "You can save some money by installing a K & N filter and removing the silencer and it will work as well plus it's still leagal." isn't there a difference in regards to HP by doing this instead of going with what KS recommended? if so would you know the difference in hp or how would you compare/rate it? btw bomz cold air intakes any good?
PS shinerstang, I am glad to hear that, thanx for the feedback. Question do you know of a website that has a good price on the T-locks?
It depends on what you want for t-locks. Auburn and Detroit tru-trac are the best, but expensive. Ford racing has one, but it require internal clutch rebuilding every 20-40k or so depending on driving habits. I would suggest Auburn or Detroit if you have the extra cash...... There are websites with product listed on the top of the page with all site you need to look at GEF Racing has the Ford one for under $200.00, the others are around twice as much.

Difference is 7 hp. especially when it's hot. when it's hot removing your air silencer will lose you hp.
