Anyway, I have a 66 coupe that has the 200 straight 6. I don't want to toss in a V-8, everyone does that, so I started thinking about a V-6 either from a newer mustang or from a Explorer. I don't plan of racing this coupe or smoking the tires, I just want something the wife can get in and start right up and not need to let the car warm up for 10-15 min. before she drives. Also, if I can get a little pep out of the V6 and not see the gas gauge go down as fast as the speedo goes up, that would be nice too.
Has anyone seen this type of swap or have any ideas/ sugesstions?
thanks for any and all info. |
The 3.8L is a sturdier engine, with a lot fewer problems than the 4.0L, particularly those that went in the explorer. The computer work is pretty hairy on the 05+ mustang 4.0L, too . . .
Go with a 01+ 3.8L & pick up the
tranny too, it'll go in a lot easier that way . ..
