I've been narrowing down my choices between these two cars. The interior doesn't really matter as it'll end up being a beater anyways. The GT has 86 000 km's and The V6 has a little of 100 000 Km's. Don't know what these numbers convert to in miles, but there V6 will have about 60 000 Miles and the GT roughly 40 000 miles.
What would be the pro's and con's of getting either of these cars ? Judge as you see fit, but try to avoid biased answers. I am not for V8's nor am i Against V6. I am for Mustang and i want to know which of them has more advantages on both the long run winter use.

Get 'em checked out.
in the snow the 6 is better, because the weight distribution is better.
That was the first year of the 4.6L GT, and there were some problems but they should have been worked out by now. Likewise, the 3.8L had some head gasket issues that needed to be taken care of. Run 'em both by a dealership & check out the service records.

Just a little note on the km to miles conversion (i constantly do it here in SA):
Multiply miles by 1.6 to get to km... Divide km by 1.6 for miles...
I've got a '95 V6, pretty close to the '96. Yep it has some gasket issues like KS said, but if you're looking at getting good mileage and a soft ride, go for the V6. Its a great car and has good torque. If you're looking at performance and have the $, get the GT. Obviously depends on your budget. What are they going for?
And the V6 is noticeably lighter at the nose, which makes those turnins easier. You are looking at 155hp and 215ft-lbs compared to 225hp and 285ft-lbs diff in specs
Alrighty, i guess il put up more details. So really, i've narrowed it down to six, but since two of em were 6's and the rest of em were 8's,i figured i'd use one example for each, but now il do my best to make it as clear. Here are the choices starting with the 6's and ending with the V8's. It's too bad that i was only able to find so many V6's. Much of them were really far away and some had over 200 000KM's which is too much for me really.
Ford Mustang GT 1998
4.6L V8
Manual
Sony xplod Sound system and neon kit included (great -.-)
Clutch changed last summer ( 700$)
Selling because i want a convertible
90 000 - 99 999KM
The GT's are averaging $3K CAD more than the V6, of course you can read and do math as well, but factor a few other things in, like;
1. Can you afford the $3K CAD difference?
2. Possible additional insurance cost per month?
3. how long do you plan to keep the car?
4. with the $3K difference, will you have anything left in savings in case there are some needed repairs in the near future?
IMO, I would suggest getting the V6 to save money all around, then in the future, get the car you want.

yeah, & make sure the GT's weren't ridden hard, & put away wet.
You're generally safer with a V6, when it comes to abuse, but not always. Get it checked out - body, compression, run every accessory, & ask for maintenance receipts . . .

Thanks guys. Il keep that in mind. I can afford the difference, and the insurance is that much more. I am looking at about less than 100$ dollars of difference per month between either the 6 and GT. I do like that the 6 is safer in winter and cheaper on gas. I plan to keep it for as long as i can. Then either sell it and move down town where all i need is a bus pass or get a newer car when i have more years to my permit.

This is what I did anyhow, got my 97 V6 used, got some things repaired on it. Used the money I saved to pay off all my credit cards, then saved for my new car.
the red interior was a rare option on the 94-95 cars... I would go with the v6 and use the money that would go into the insurance and gas tank to mod out the six.... that's what I did
