I have a stock 1998 3.8L mustang and im looking to mod it. Id like some advice about what what mods i should start out with. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you put money into the V6 model, you probably still won't match the power of the V8 model and instead of spending that money on mods, just pay the difference in the price of the car and buy the V8 which will give you a better platform...

To get back to the question, most people start with CAI and dual exhaust. Then move on to gears and t-lock.
yeah, but on a 98, drop in works as well as a CAI. I'd go underdrivers 1st . ..

I already had the power of a pre-99 V8 model without any mods.
The platform is the same. Fox-4 or SN95.

We are quick to jump on comments like that because this is a V6 forum. We stick together. I tell ya something, I really love my V6 and have no problem droppin some dough into it. I will always own a 6!
Not to mention its more enjoyable when we beat cocky V8 owners.
Aside from the higher cost of an V8, the insurance will kill ya too. Especially younger drivers.
Hey 94cobra, in lookin in your profile i noticed you have had alot of work done to your car. Y do all that work when you already had a V8? Or y not try to fit a v10 in it? Catch my drift

We can match the power of your motors. Look in MM&FF August edition on page 104. I can tell you, that most of you "big V8 ego" guys hate losing to us, but you still do. I've beaten 5.0's, Camaro's, Malibu's, and even a Firebird that he ended up selling the next week and buying a V6 Mustang.....
Ya matts car is pretty sick!!! Cant wait for my turbo to go on. Then ill be makin some nice power.
But anyway, sir lancelot what are you future plans for the car. You can go as crazy as u want. But once you start its hard to stop. I now know this for a fact.
I would start with Dual Exhaust. Then the tlok and gears, that just puts the power to the ground faster.
I got the exhaust done for $480. The underdrive pulleys i got were like $90. The rear is a bit more expensive but def worth it. I dont know how much labor is because i did alot of the work myself. Ed just put the tlok and gears together and in the rear. then i buttoned her up. Then youll also have the satisfaction of a two wheel burnout. If thats your cup of tea that is.
All depends on how much u wanna spend.

yeah, the 5.0Ls are good eatin' - second only to Hemi's in 2.5 ton trucks!
None of the 80s/early 90s F-bodies ever tried to run me . . . but plenty of Eclipses, etc., have.
Beating the guy in the crossfire with the aviator sunglasses and driving gloves was teh best, though!
