Exclamation What is in my 1998 Ford Mustang?!?

Ya, I'm new to the thread, since I have just bought a 1998 Ford Mustang at a big used car sale( The huge car tent sale for anyone living in San Diego), and as soon as I started up the car, I noticed it obviuoslt had parts in it, but since I was able to get out the door under $6500 for the whole car, I figured the dealer didnt know what was in there. This is what I've have come to so far:

true dual exhausts with H-pipes

heres a video of them in action

Cold air intake

While that seems all fine, I think there may be something more in it than just those two mods. The car seems to accelerate very quickly(I've driven some fast cars, and this thing moves). Could It also possibly have gears, or some engine work?

So this is what I ask

What exhaust system is it(watch video please!)

If you want, I'll gladly take pictures of what ever you want to look at(i.e. exhaust, engine , you name it, I take a picture to show it)

cause it feels faster than 170hp(rough guesstimate of what I think the HP rating is)

Could be flowmaster's, although Flow's seem to have more of a deeper groan to them.

If you scoot under the car you should see what's stamped on the mufflers.

Show some pictures of the engine if you can.

Hate to say it, but you overpayed quite a bit. I suppose that is expected from a dealer, though.

I cant remember the exact price, it was probably close to 6200(including tax+ registration), but I needed a new car, so I decided to get one with some style, instead of some boring econo-box.

and strangely enough, this car was one of the few cheap cars at the tent sale

but I'll upload some pics tommorrow, any other?

I was thinking it might have gears, but who knows..

just to let you know, that on the video description, you put true dual h-pipe exhaust system. It either has to be true duals or an h-pipe. True duals is when the exhaust system go straight back from the headers with out any sort of cross over (x/h/y-pipe). If their is a crossover than its not a true dual.

As for the cost of the car, you got raped by the tent sale. I bought my '98 v6 garaged, hardly used except for short commutes, for $4k. There are some mods on your vehicle but I still believe at the most you should've payed 5250 (including taxes, reg., etc.)

Only way you'll really be able to find out all the mods on the vehicle are, find the last owner, they'll let you know.

Oh and welcome to the forum, glad to see I have another brother with a '98 v6 here, especially in San Diego. Next time we have a cruise going on here, you must tag along

It's really easy:
When you write your next post just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "manage attachments." Then you can browse the files on your computer and click "upload" when you have the pictures chosen.

I'll be watching for the pictures

here are some pics

the picture of the inside of the car is about those two buttons. I have noticed thatr when you press the blue 1, the car dosent accelerate as fast, sorta like an economy mode. the black button makes the car accelerate harder, and looks like it holds gears longer too.

o yeah, the really close up pic that looks like nothing is actually the open end of the air intake. it goes inot the body work sort of, and dosent have a filter, is this normal?

and ya, I have an automatic, people from California would know why.

Other than installing the plate on the cold air intake the wrong way (3rd picture), it doesn't look like he did anything to it.

Usually if you buy from a dealership or small business they have a record of the owner(s) that had it before, I just asked them for the owner's phone # (when I bought my camaro) and they gave it to me haha. I don't know if that's legal or not but oh well, I got the info I needed!

and schwaebz98, you either have one of the two: true duals OR h-piped exhaust can't be both haha
