but i want to make it a bit louder, and deeper, and more aggresive sounding
any ideas?
for 1 & 2 change your mufflers.
For #3, swap your cam.

Ya, my 98 mustang has a nice exaust note, but what can i do to make it meaner?
any ideas?
Alright, you've got the same year, model, and engine mustang I've got. I STRONGLY recommend a muffler change to Pypes Violator Mufflers. They sound EXTREMELY good. you can hear mine at FQuick and just check out my gallery for the exhaust pictures I've got. I've been meaning to get a video clip of me going balls to the wall in my car but haven't gotten around to it. The sound clip on FQuick I have, does not do any justice to the ferocity of the sound. People get it confused with a v8 now and then. Brenspeed's got them on ebay for relatively cheap. I bought mine brand new from some guy though, that never installed them. Go to ebay and bid on them, I promise you, you won't be sorry. It'll come to about $130 total for two mufflers shipped to your house. I haven't felt this strongly about a product in a LONG time, not too many people have Pypes Violators on their v6's, especially SN-95 which makes your '98 all the more rare, so join the select few and listen to a great sounding exhaust!!!
I feel definite gains in horsepower and I haven't tuned it at all and it's just fine. Since I don't plan on adding any superchargers, turbos, or nos to my car I kept the stock width for the exhaust piping at 2". Otherwise I think you may have some loss at the lower end power. I didn't lose any low end power, but I did gain some high-end power for sure.
As for the shifter, I bought it off of MUSTANG-UPR Products.com, its the UPR Billet Shifter, and then I rewired the O/D button to the steering wheel, but, it didn't work there so I rewired it again to the dashboard right above the vent on the left side. It gives it a much cleaner look don't you think?
Hey Stanger98, just went to Fquick and checked it out, nice sound indeed ! Here is a link to a video I have of mine on youtube, check it out lemme know what you guys think, I have FlowMaster 40s currently but am not bound to them by any means and may change em' someday.

Reason: forgot to add the link =P
thanks Shantox, yeah the only reason why I didn't go with the Flow's is because too many people have them and they don't have that loud oomph all the way through the RPM's. I think tomorrow when I'm going to school I may bring my camera along for the ride and take an in-car video of what my car sounds like, then I gotta figure out where to do an outside video lol.
I think the flow 40's sound cool but that balance tube needs to go its not needed, and the cam changed

By this do u mean have the H-pipe removed and just run them straight from the cats ?

that's what I'm doing The H-Pipe mellows out the sound I just went all out and did straight back exhaust, it was a daring move because most exhausts when you do that on a v6 sound like a fart but I got lucky and it sounds awesome
yes remove the cross tube, but the cam has the most influence on the sound
avoid borla mufflers they sound too raspy on a V6
