I have a 1996 v6 mustang and ive been doing alot of basic work to it because it was my grandmas old car. Anyways I have been looking for exhausts and Most of them on sites are around 400 for a full catback system. Down by my house this guy sells them for 250 im confused is this right?

Check the materials & craftsmanship, usually the cheap ones are aluminized steel and are not necessarily mandrel-bent.

$400 sounds about right, but if you can find a stainless, mandrel bent system for $250, that's a steal.

Make sure they're mandrel bent! Bad bends (the kinky ones) are baaaad! Stainless systems can get pretty pricey but like KS said, $250 is a steal. Titanium systems are totally sick!

the 3.8L is muscle compared to a 'teg - but the only musclecars left are the Cobra Rs.

yeah...the stock 3.8 is a little more like a female high school wrestler, tough...but they're still girls (no offense ladies ). It needs a lot of work to turn it into a Pro football player.

Hey, now!

It's more like a Safety converted to a DE (A la K-State's system of speed).

I guess that was kind of a low blow to us V6s.

So your defensive ends are faster than your safeties? I'll give it a tight end into a fullback. Tight ends are a little stronger off the line but a full back is a little faster once they get rolling. How's that?

Have you though about a GT takeoff with whatever mufflers you want and some new tips? Maybe $400 installed?
