I have a 04 3.8 that has been wrecked im restoring but having a issue... the engine runs full out when started not given any throttle. when i disconnect the mass air sensor the engine will start but runs like crap, but no over rev. I had someone check it with a computer and it said tps was bad the mass air was bad and the neutral safety switch is bad.
this is what ive tried..
have replaced the tps
replaced the mass air
bypassed neutral safety for now
runs a little smoother without mass air connected but still like crap.when i connect mass air it still runs full out without giving gas.. what else could be wrong..
after i changed the sensors i am told you have to reset the computer but you cant just diconnect battery it has to be done with a computer for it to read the new sensors... is that true
LOL ok figured it out prob solved.. where the car was wrecked it apparently bent the gas pedal..it was causing the car to rev about half throttle. when i removed the map sensor it bogged the car down enough to run but crappy lol.. after we disconnected the throttle cable and repositioned the tps it runs like a dream... thanks yall for your help
